(B+) Very tightly plotted and intriguing, though Scorsese's remake easily outdoes it by adding in more character/humor and other things.

(B) Good visuals, acting and some interesting characters almost make up for this movie's not really going anywhere in particular.

(B-) A ton of time of talent and effort went into what is ultimately a very average, run of the mill script. Solid overall, but far from great.

(B-) Best known for it's gore/camp quotient, but I think it's got some conventional positives too, like the excellent, if derivative score and strong atmosphere.

(B) Formulaic Oscar-bait from Scorsese, but well done. Blanchett is as annoying as all hell, though. Perhaps Hepburn really was that irritating, I dunno.

(B+) Rationally terrible but also awesome gorefest. I've never seen anything else quite like it.

(C) Largely stupid, but it has some nice gore and a bit of charm that makes it watchable.

(A-) First-rate atmospheric horror. Superior to the original, and a brilliant realization of the classic premise.

(B+) (Just the Kurosawa film) Not one of his best movies, but still a well-told, interesting and sometimes powerful film.

(A-) A fantastic, elaborate debut from Inarritu. He's a real talent, obviously.

(B+) A legitimately intelligent and insightful black comedy/satire, though it's perhaps a bit light on the actual story.

(B+) It's not as funny as the show was at its best, but it's still damn funny.

(A) I hadn't watched this in a while, and I'd half forgotten just how great it is. There's a little too much Minnesota stuff, but it's brilliant otherwise with a strong plot, interesting and likable characters, good visuals and music and flawlessly executed tone changes. The Coen's shouldn't be able to pull it all together, but they do. Their best, and an all-time classic

(A-) A truly bizarre, outrageous and daring satire. Plenty of great speeches in this one.

(B) The plot is more than a little goofy and overly convoluted, but they make up for it with the terrific visuals of hell and the general mood of the film.

(A) Ahh, what can I say that hasn't been said. Willis's wife annoys me, but that's the only flaw in this brilliant film. I still prefer 'Kill Bill' myself, but this one is worthy of all its praise.

(B+) Severely entertaining noir/hard-boiled detective parody/hommage. Like most self-referential films it's a bit obvious at times, but it has a lot of genuine cleverness and still works dramatically. Great, appealing performance from Downey, too.
