Number 1 with no competition here. His voice wasn't the most beautiful but it was the most expressive. When I heard him for the first time I didn't know French - but I understood him.

This is bossa nova: Antonio Carlos Jobim, Stan Getz and Gilbertos, especially Joao Gilberto, whose voice IS bossa nova: slow, seductive, soft, full of endless days with summer, sand, sea and without work or worries.

My favourite choir ever: purity, piety, power, perfection. When life gets you down, when there are worries, when you can't fall asleep and need serious relaxing and elevating from everyday troubles, try this. Divine is the word - overused in many occasions but not here.

Possibly the clearest tenor voice ever. No Christmas is perfect without his "O helga natt" (O holy night).

Smoooooth... Sam Cooke's voice is one the easiest to recognize and it truly makes you feel good. This is the best collection I found. Too bad he died young, he had a lot to give.

The old leather lungs, as he was called... Frankie Laine had a voice that commands respect: strong, healthy, expressive, natural and easy. Judging by his voice it's no wonder he held world record for marathon dancing (over 145 days!) and died at the age of 93.

For some reason I fell in love with Nat King Cole's voice at the age of 10. Never really cured, though Brel later won me over. Still I stop and listen, when I hear him singing. Such tenderness is rare. And this seems like a good collection.
