![]() | American Pie: My Search for the Perfect Pizza by Peter Reinhart
Buy used from: $25.99 This is more than a book about pizza crust. This book is a guide to making truly amazing pizza, and it includes sauce and toppings as well as crusts and completed pies. There might be more comprehensive books on the subject, but I have yet to find better.

![]() | Artisan Baking by Maggie Glezer
Buy new: $15.61 / Used from: $11.61 This is a book similar to The Bread Baker's Apprentice by Peter Reinhart, but it does not have the same level of detail in terms of what actually happens when you make a batch of bread dough. That said, it is a book you can pick up and read for the stories as much as for making bread.
