Your call. I liked the introduction to Irish history. There's a fair amount of sex and in a few cases the author takes it too far. Any values are left to the characters: some have worthy ones, others don't.

I recommend, though Meyer pushes it to my limit. The making out scenes are provocative but ultimately the author's values (which I share) win out.

I recommend. Not a happy book, but well written... It provides a take on WWII I hadn't read or seen before. Be aware that though there are no "sex scenes", it comes across as common to have relations outside of marriage and this practice is not necessarily viewed as immoral.

I recommend. As always, L'Engle is frank. She doesn't shy away from sex, but handles it carefully in a way I admire. I'm glad her nieces got this work published.

I don't recommend. I decided to put it down before I finished it because the vulgarity was too much. I read as much as I did because the way the story is put together is interesting. Too bad it's ruined with infantile bodily function humor.

I recommend!!!!! Please don't let my five exclamation marks raise your expectations too high, but really, this is one of the best books I've read in awhile. I sing the authors' praises for creating not only a fabulous read, but it's clean!

You decide. The book is fairly clean... It deals with adultery and hints at homosexuality, though it doesn't go into scenes on either topic. One main character is an alcoholic. I guess this book gets all sorts of literary praise, but I didn't grow to care much about the characters except for feeling sorry for them all being so mixed up.

I recommend. I'm picking up things I didn't see as a young reader. I *love* Miss Marple's "niece".

I don't recommend. It's definitely intriguing and a decent handling of sexual abuse - it never gets too graphic but nevertheless communicates the terrible consequences. I give it demerits for too much foul language.

You decide. A fascinating tale of hostages and their keepers. Unfortunately, fornication and adultry play their parts towards the end of the book. In one case, the fornication contains a little too much detail. In the other case, the adultry isn't described, just condoned. I remember only one instance of foul language.

I got bored halfway through the book and stopped reading. Remember I don't do well with nonfiction...
