Buy new: $127.16 This bassinet was a great way to have baby sleep next to me in the beginning. Started off with her sleeping in my arms for a couple of weeks. Then she slept on my bed between me and the attached co-sleeper so she couldn't fall off the bed or get crushed by my husband. Then I moved her into the co-sleeper. Next I detached the co-sleeper and moved it a few feet away.

While the techniques are useful, the most valuable thing about reading this is that it gives you the confidence to trust your mothering instincts instead of listening to old wives tales that advise cold-hearted treatment of the newborn.

It is portable (rechargeable battery) and is just bright enough for nursing and diaper changes, without waking up the husband, and you can walk around with it. This "baby tent" has been great so far. It folds down small so it's much easier to travel with than a pack n play. We've used it in hotel rooms, at friends' homes, and in the family tent while camping. Baby sleeps fine in it for both naps and overnight stays.

I was able to fit her playmat/baby gym in there when she was just rolling. Now that she's crawling around, it gives her a lot more room to play than the half-size Pack n Plays.
