The First season of “The Adventures of Superman” produces some of the finest television episodes of all time. Fine action, writing and directing. This first season of this classic series was written as much for adults as for children. Although some other the later seasons were seriously dumbed down, the first season remains exquisite.

I loved this latest Superman DVD. It has powerful writing, momentous action, good animation. Superman dies and then is resurrected. Who could ask for more?

Not quite as good as the first season (although many of the episodes are). Watching this season almost makes one weep to think about how badly the show fell in it’s last four seasons. Although the last four seasons are fun in a corny sort of way, the first two season show how great a superman series can be.

Terry Hatcher is perhaps my favorite Lois Lane. This is as much her show as it is Superman’s. This is the show where Lois stops being just a sidekick. The first season introduced us to younger & hipper Lois Lane and Clark Kent.

The third season continues in the fine vein of the earlier seasons. This is the last season before the series begins to lose its way. Although the later seasons remain fun, they don’t reach the heights of the first three seasons.

A fine complement to "Superman the Movie". Doesn’t quite reach the heights of its predecessor, but the movie soars non-the-less.

Superboy (the first season) this was the weakest season of this series. Season three and four were much better. It is because of Season three and four that I have included this DVD collection and only because Three and Four (& season Two) have not been released. The writing acting and directing on this season were weak, but it still had a certain naive innocence that redeems this season.
