![]() | American Ballet Theatre Now - Variety and Virtuosity (Dance in America)
Buy used from: $79.95 Absolutely my favorite pas de deux in all ballet is 'The Leaves are Fading' performed by Amanda McKerrow and John Gardner. The perfect dance matched with the perfect music. Stunning...the ending near moves me to tears.
Another great dance on this DVD is, 'Cruel World' dance by Julie Kent and Robert Hill; This one grows on you with repeated viewing.

![]() | Tchaikovsky, Petipa - Swan Lake / Kirov Ballet, Yulia Makhalina, Igor Zelensky
Buy new: $23.49 / Used from: $14.99 In her prime and a true prima ballerina if there ever was one, Julia Makhalina is the show in this Swan Lake. Also some for Igor Zelensky's leaps and spins are unbelievable. It's just unfortunate that this is a movie version and not performed before an enthusiastic audience. Otherwise, a stunning DVD.

![]() | Kirov Classics
Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $10.96 A compilation disc; the highlight is the pas de trois starring Larissa Lezhnina and Dmitry Gruzdev and Yaroslav Fadayev in 'The Fairy Doll'. It's ballet with humor, but the unbelievable athleticism is there.

![]() | Giselle
Buy new: $29.49 / Used from: $20.99 This has become my favorite Giselle, beating out the La Scala version with Alessandra Ferri by a whisker.
Overall, the best dancing and emotional intrepretation I've ever seen. The lifts in the pas de deux in Act II will blow you away. Stirring to watch. The only negative in this DVD is some questionable camera angles and close-ups in Act I.
