![]() | The Amulet of Samarkand (The Bartimaeus Trilogy, Book 1) by Jonathan Stroud
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.01 Great trilogy! They have some of the best/interesting characters and they're books any age would enjoy. What I especially enjoyed was that the main character was not the natural "do good" hero. He was in a way conniving and complexly evil.

|

![]() | Max (Maximum Ride, Book 5) by James Patterson
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $4.24 This whole series is good! I first got them as a birthday present from my grandmother who had heard they were good from a "precocious" 12 year old. I thought..."great..." It turns out though that they were pretty good. A little elementary but the main character (Max) is very strong. The book is written as though she is talking to you.
