Definitely not for fans of multi-million dollar epic horror flicks or the weak-kneed.

Every one of these titles are available on other box sets-- however there is no single package (other than this one) that contains them all. If you're a fan of sci-fi or horror flicks, this collection will definitely please you.

The name BACK FROM THE GRAVE refers to the age of these dozen fright films, which have literally returned from the cinematic boneyard to haunt your nightmares. This edition of the BLOOD SOAKED CINEMA series is a bargain-priced sampling of vintage horror from the years 1932 to '78.

Featured on two titles here is Enrica Bianchi Colombatto (better known as 'Erika Blanc'). Her Italian-made horror films from the 1960s and '70s are still highly regarded by fans. Another highlight brings together Cheryl Ladd and Kate Jackson several years before their CHARLIE'S ANGELS days. Vincent Price adds his inimitable talents as well.

A TASTE OF EVIL is a mix of horror and sci-fi films. Featured here are a disembodied head in a pan of water, gigantic waterlogged wormy things, an overgrown gecko, arachnophobia and a cheap-looking gorilla costume. Pop the corn, to go along with the corn on screen.

INCREDIBLE MONSTERS consists of 11 mid-20th Century creature features. The thingeys here include Yeti, Nessie, giant bugs, a spider/Bigfoot hybrid and a couple of human mutants. The 3 single-side recorded discs have some extras (trailers, trivia, etc).

The ten titles in BELA LUGOSI: MASTER OF HORROR are all from his 'B' picture days. Most famous here is WHITE ZOMBIE. There's also a serial that's been recut to movie length (THE PHANTOM CREEPS). An altogether fine package from one of the very best fright film actors!

This set defines 'B' grade horror. Features Boris Karloff as a mad scientist (what else?), a disembodied head in a pan of water (remember MARS ATTACKS?) and lots of zombies and guys in gorilla costumes. They don't make 'em like THIS any more. Be grateful!

Lugosi has three titles here, Vincent Price is in two and Mr. Chaney one. The movies are fairly common, admittedly, yet any set that offers "Carnival of Souls" (a personal favorite) ain't half bad.

The bloodbaths are evenly divided between American and foreign made films. These are definitely 'B' grade, but that always seems to add to the appeal of this type of movie. These ten violence-laden obscurities are certain to satisfy all lovers of scream-and-croak cinema.

Another set of very common public domain fright films. The highlights of this package are the extras (like movie trailers) that Madacy has provided. A collection best suited to anyone beginning a horror film library.

SCARED STIFF consists of ten low-budget indie slasher films. There's no classics here, yet for those who enjoy such movies, these obscurities are sure to please.

A nice set that contains the cult fave "Carnival of Souls." Also here are Karloff, Chaney, Lugosi and Chris Lee. There's werewolves, snake people and your usual gang of zombies, too.

Unlike many of the budget priced DVD sets, FRIGHT NIGHT CLASSICS features one movie per disc. Thus, eight films = eight DVDs. There's only a single clunker here-- one of those "shot in a week" Philippino specials. The rest range in quality from not bad to really good.
