4/5 = Admittedly, I had to make myself follow the series's pacing, and the whole "sexist" issue is rather derivative. Once I settle in to the process, it became a mesh of great acting and solid writing. Kudos to having Ralph Fiennes in a minor role.
Prime Suspect 2Prime Suspect 2

5/5 = Now the second series really kicked up a notch with some harrowing suspense. The topic of racism was never soften up, as the crime escalated behind the same subject. I was at the edge of my seat during my climax, and in honestly, this season was the turning point of loving the franchise. My favorite of the series.

4/5 = This is purely from a subjective standpoint, but I didn't really like the ending of this series. It deals with young male prostitutes, and the way they conclude the mystery was a downer. It's not that I don't like the way it ended, just how underwhelming it is.
Prime Suspect 4Prime Suspect 4

4/5 = My least favorite of all the "Prime Suspects", if only because this series has no story arc, just three separate tales. The first about the kidnapping was good, the second was okay, and though it's nice to see the murderer from series 1, the cat-and-mouse story was chasing its own tail.
Prime Suspect 5Prime Suspect 5
Buy new: $26.49 / Used from: $14.69
5/5 = The cliffhanger of Part 1 has to be the most traumatizing moment of all "Prime Suspects"; it was harsh, unnerving, and tragic. This series throws in so many loops that by the time it reached its bittersweet conclusion, I was scarred. As far as urban class stories go, this was a punch-in-the-face...in a good way. My second favorite PS.
Prime Suspect 6 - The Last WitnessPrime Suspect 6 - The Last Witness
Buy new: $29.98 / Used from: $18.98
5/5 = DCI Tennison becomes more and more inebriated, and after the last series' ending, I can't blame her. Immigrants and genocide link to another murder mystery here, and the story is just as brutal as the past series. I like how the story took different solutions to find the prime suspect and apprehend him. The ending was a tad rushed, but overall another great series.
Prime Suspect 7 - The Final ActPrime Suspect 7 - The Final Act
Buy new: $27.49 / Used from: $19.99
4/5 = This is Jane Tennison at her most personal, as she not only tries to find a missing victim, but tries to control her own addiction. Seeing the past six series, the finale did follow the same protocols: the proverbial red herring, the mid-way tragedy, disputes between ranked officers. It's familiar, but it doesn't make this series any less compelling. A swan song of the most elegant kind.
