White SnakeWhite Snake by David Coverdale
Buy used from: $18.49
1977 - His first solo album! Contains the song "Whitesnake" that gave the name to his group. It's an excellent rocker just like "Sunny Days", however this is a quite diverse recording as evidenced by "Celebration", "Peace Loving Man", and the awesome ballad "Hole In The Sky". The original version of the epic "Blindman" is here as well which was later re-recorded for "Ready 'An Willing".
NorthwindsNorthwinds by David Coverdale
Buy used from: $14.99
1977 - Second release of the year. This is so much better than the previous one in terms of songwriting and production! All songs are memorable. Just listen to "Only My Soul", "Time And Again", "Queen Of Hearts", "Breakdown" and "Sweet Mistreater"! The title track features great drumming from session player Tony Newman.

1978 - Their bedut E.P. Only the first four songs come from it while the rest are taken from his second solo album "Northwinds". The highlight here is definitely the rocker "Bloody Mary" and the soulful ballad "Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City". This is the only recording that features Solley on keyboards.
TroubleTrouble by Whitesnake
Buy new: $42.99 / Used from: $12.00
1978 - The full length debut. A great career start to say the least! An interesting cover of the Beatles' "Day Tripper" is included, guitarist Marsden sings lead vocals on "Free Flight" and it's their only album to feature an instrumental: "Belgian Tom's Hat Trick". The title track is very catchy. First recording with Lord on keys! The "Sankebite" E.P. is added as bonus tracks!
LovehunterLovehunter by Whitesnake
Buy new: $19.99 / Used from: $14.78
1979 - Awesome sophomore effort! The songwriting is top notch starting with "Long Way From Home", it gets better and better! "Medicine Man" is one of their best songs! Marsden is back on vocals on "Outlaw" and the album closes with the short ballad "We Wish You Well". Guitarist Moody plays some killer slide guitar on "You 'An Me". Last recording with Dowle on drums.
Ready an' WillingReady an' Willing by Whitesnake
Buy new: $44.99 / Used from: $48.68
1980 - Perhaps their best album? Maybe. "Fool For Your Loving" is one of their best album openers for sure but the quality is maintainded throughout the rest of the LP. Check out: "Carry Your Load", "Blind Man", "She's A Woman", "Sweet Talker" and "Black And Blue". The first release to feature Paice's drumming! Moody plays his usual slide guitar on "Ain't Gonna Cry No More Today" and "Love Man".
Live.... In the Heart of the City/Live at HammersmithLive.... In the Heart of the City/Live at Hammersmith by Whitesnake
Buy used from: $23.12
1978/80 - Two awesome live recordings in one! The first was recorded in 1978 and still featured Dowle on drums. Marsden plays an excellent extended solo during their version of the Deep Purple classic "Mistreated"! The other concert comes from June '80 and includes Paice. Highlights are "Come On", and "Fool For Your Loving". Moody plays an extended slide guitar solo in "Lovehunter".
Come an' Get ItCome an' Get It by Whitesnake
Buy new: $14.98 / Used from: $10.00
1981 - Similar to the last in terms of songwriting/sound. Paice's drums sound terrific on this one! For me the highlights are "Don't Break My Heart Again", "Child Of Babylon", "Lonely Days, Lonely Nights" (killer verse riff) and "Wine, Women 'An Song". Murray's bass is very powerful throughout. Too bad this turned out to be the last album with Marsden!
Saints & SinnersSaints & Sinners by Whitesnake
Buy new: $42.99 / Used from: $6.85
1982 - The band starts to rock harder! New guitar player Galley injected new energy to a lot of these tunes. Just listen to "Young Blood", "Saints & Sinners", and "Rough 'An Ready". Paice's drumming is really tight but he left after this recording! Includes the original versions of "Here I Go Again" and "Crying In The Rain" which I prefer to the later remakes. Bassist Murray leaves temporarily.
Slide It InSlide It In by Whitesnake
Buy new: $12.98 / Used from: $4.55
1984 - The original UK release produced by Martin Birch. Hodgkinson is on bass with the guitar partnership of Galley/Moody. This version is the real deal! Lord's atmospheric keyboard work opens the first song "Gambler" and so it continues with many excellent hard rock numbers like "All Or Nothing", "Love Ain't No Stranger", and "Standing In The Shadow". Former Rainbow drummer Powell is here!
Slide It InSlide It In by Whitesnake
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $1.29
1984 - The US release remixed by Keith Olsen. A returning Murray redubbed the bass parts while John Sykes redubbed most of the guitar work from Moody. The original running order of the songs was rearranged! Try to get the UK release, or get both, so you can compare them! Coverdale was really determined to conquer the US market! The band's direction/sound starts to shift...

2009 - This is the one to get, it includes both the US and UK mixes with bonus tracks plus a DVD!
WhitesnakeWhitesnake by Whitesnake
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.98
1987 - This is it! Their biggest selling album to date! Not really a favorite of mine honestly. The songwriting is well crafted and the playing is tight but Coverdale decided that the band was going to mimic the sound of hair metal! If you don't mind the change there's plenty of highlights: "Still Of The Night", the remakes of "Here I Go Again" and "Crying In The Rain" and "Bad Boys".
Whitesnake, 20th Anniversary, 1987-2007Whitesnake, 20th Anniversary, 1987-2007 by Whitesnake
Buy used from: $39.95
2007 - The excellent anniversary edition with remastered sound and bonus tracks: the two studio songs: "You're Gonna Break My Heart Again", and "Looking For Love" were previously available on the greatest hits cd (see product #17 on this list), but here you get four more bonus live tracks plus a DVD!
Slip of the TongueSlip of the Tongue by Whitesnake
Buy used from: $0.59
1989 - Their last offering. Pretty much continues where the previous one left off. My least favorite album with quite a few weak numbers. The guitarist this time was Steve Vai. Some notable songs are "Judgment Day", "The Deeper The Love", "Sailing Ships", and "Wings Of The Storm" with a cool solo from Vai. The remake of "Fool For Your Loving" is good...only if you like the late 80's sound that is!

Buy new: $29.98 / Used from: $14.99
2009 - An excellent deluxe edition featuring a DVD plus many bonus tracks, this is the one to get!
Whitesnake's Greatest HitsWhitesnake's Greatest Hits by Whitesnake
Buy used from: $1.24
1994 - A compilation that gathers material from the last three albums from the Geffen label: "Slide It In" (US version), the self-titled one from 1987, and "Slip Of The Tongue". Far from the best compilation around but fans should get this one for the previously unreleased songs: "Looking For Love", "You're Gonna Break My Heart Again", "Sweet Lady Luck", and the radio version of "Here I Go Again".
Here I Go Again: The Whitesnake CollectionHere I Go Again: The Whitesnake Collection by Whitesnake
Buy new: $19.98 / Used from: $5.92
2002 - A nice package that brings together the last three Geffen albums plus a very rare song: the Fleetwood Mac cover "Need Your Love So Bad", a cool ballad with fine vocals from Coverdale on top of Jon Lord's atmospheric keyboard playing.
Silver Anniversary CollectionSilver Anniversary Collection by Whitesnake
Buy new: $19.98 / Used from: $8.67
2003 - A very good compilation that mixes the band material with Coverdale's solo work and his Coverdale/Page project. A lot of underrated cuts are included like "Love To Keep You Warm", "Hit 'An Run", and "Victim Of Love". One of the better choices to get familiar with the group!
The Early YearsThe Early Years by Whitesnake
Buy new: $17.99 / Used from: $2.73
2004 - Great set featuring a good song selection from the "Snakebite" E.P. up to 1982's "Saints & Sinners", but the Geffen era is completely omitted.
The Definitive CollectionThe Definitive Collection by Whitesnake
Buy new: $10.97 / Used from: $3.46
2006 - A better choice than the previous one as it mixes the two eras but it favors the more popular Geffen material!
Whitesnake GoldWhitesnake Gold by Whitesnake
Buy new: $14.97 / Used from: $8.24
2006 - Finally! This greatest hits includes a good balance between the two eras plus quite a few alternate mixes like the rare single version of "Give Me All Your Love Tonight" recorded in 1988 featuring guitar work from Vivian Campbell, his only contribution to the band! Easily the best choice of all!
Good To Be BadGood To Be Bad by Whitesnake
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $3.37
2008 - Their newest studio recording in years! Only Coverdale remains from previous line-ups... How good is it in comparison with the past?... How good is the chemistry between the new players?... Is David's voice still in fine form? Well... I don't know! I haven't listened to it yet!!!!!!!
