![]() | Diorama by Silverchair
Buy new: $13.96 / Used from: $3.85 Odd that I this better than others. This album hit me at just the right time. I was obsessed with it for an entire summer. I don't even listen to Frogstomp because just sucks compared to where they are now. This record is simply unbelievable and changed my expectations for music.

![]() | ...Is a Real Boy by Say Anything
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $2.00 I've always liked punk but always found it kinda boring with the exception of maybe Rancid or MxPx. This record is the most eclectic punk record ever. The lyrics are amazing and extremely clever.
![]() | Takk... by Sigur Rós
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $5.73 Sigur Ros' most cohesive album. Others have better songs but this album is complete and perfect from beginning to end.
![]() | Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie
Buy used from: $11.49 I love Ben Gibbard. I relate to his lyrics more than any other singer. This is just a wonderful record that never gets old with me.
![]() | Silent Alarm by Bloc Party
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $3.90 In my mind Bloc Party is underrated. I've loved all their records but the debut is just phenomenal from beginning to end. Easily one of the best live bands out there not named Sigur Ros or Explosions In The Sky.
![]() | Funeral by Arcade Fire
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $7.37 Worth the hype, one of the few worth the hype. Still don't understand the Animal Collective hype but this band is just awesome. Wake Up is the best song to come this decade.
![]() | Give Up by The Postal Service
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $4.98 Another album that never gets old. Clark Gable and The District Sleeps Alone are amazing. I honestly would love them to not make another record and leave it to just this.
![]() | Spiritual Machines by Our Lady Peace
Buy used from: $0.50 How can a band regress so badly. Gravity was enjoyable and the last 2 very forgettable. Modern rock is dead. This is a fantastic concept album (I hate that term) that's experimental yet catchy and insanely enjoyable all the way through.
![]() | Because of the Times by Kings of Leon
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $6.24 I love this band. I love everything they've put out. This is my favorite. It's the best pure rock'n'roll record of the decade. These guys make music that could fit in any decade since the 60's sans the 80's.
![]() | Paloalto by Paloalto
Buy used from: $0.53 This band is unbelievable and put out 2 incredible records. Hopefully people catch on to how awesome this band was. "The Mayor And The Seizure Pills" is easily one of my alltime favorite songs.
![]() | Boxer by The National
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $6.59 This record is so lush and well-produced. It's just so good the whole way through. "Fake Empire" is probably the best track 1 of the decade.
![]() | Plans by Death Cab for Cutie
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $5.03 This album just continued to grow on me. Songs like "What Sarah Said", "Summer Skin", and "Brothers In A Hotel Bed" are just wonderful.
![]() | The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place by Explosions in the Sky
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $9.37 The band I listen to more than any other. It's so hard to gauge a post-rock album against albums with vocals that have a different feel. This record is a masterpiece. Every song tells a story. I love it. If I could only listen to 3 albums the rest of my life, all 3 would probably be Explosions albums.
![]() | Kill the Moonlight by Spoon
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $6.44 My favorite Spoon album. This band is just so good. Every song is so catchy and cool. Brit Daniel is one of the best songwriters out there.
![]() | Picaresque by The Decemberists
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $5.41 It's so hard to pick a favorite Decemberist album. This one is just too good to ignore. It feels more personal than their other records. Colin Meloys lyrics are brilliant. He habitually tells stories that sound medieval and victorian like he was to meant to be born in another era.
![]() | Aha Shake Heartbreak by Kings of Leon
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $4.87 This album is so fun. It's a great windows down summer record. This could've been made in the 60's or 70's and been huge.
![]() | Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $8.85 Another band that lives up to the hype. Indie snobs like to refer to this as mainstream somehow. This album is wonderful. The vocal harmonies are beautiful and the folk sounds have a very psychedelic feel to them. My Morning Jacket (way overrated) and Band Of Horses (I love them too) wish they sounded this good.
![]() | Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $7.48 Again, worth the hype. This album is awesome. I can't wait for their 3rd album.
![]() | Several Arrows Later by matt pond PA
Buy new: $12.98 / Used from: $1.96 The most underrated indie band out there. I love how Matt Pond intertwines love songs with metaphors of nature and the baroque pop sound with the cello is awesome. I recommend all their albums.
![]() | Girls Can Tell by Spoon
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $5.00 Again, just so catchy and fun. There's a reason you constantly hear Spoon songs in movies. They are so much fun. A band that really hasn't even made a bad song. Literally, I mean that.
![]() | Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $4.79 My favorite Wilco album is Summerteeth but this is a close second. Another band worth the hype.
![]() | Discovery by Daft Punk
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $6.08 Another odd choice. I have a guilty pleasure for techno/dance music. I love The Chemical Brothers too. This album is awesome. It's one of the best dance albums ever made.
![]() | For Emma, Forever Ago by Bon Iver
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $9.49 Mellow, acoustic, ambient, wonderful, lush... It's so good from beginning to end. I don't quite understand why everyone is so hung up on Skinny Love though. "Re: Stacks" and "Blindsided" are simply breathtaking.
![]() | Musicforthemorningafter by Pete Yorn
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.70 Best album by the most underrated singer/songwriter out there. They only get better with age too.
![]() | Gratitude by Gratitude
Buy new: $13.96 / Used from: $0.01 I love Jonah Matranga. Every summer I bust this out and listen to it all summer. It's so catchy and good it's got very real earnest lyrics. He pours his heart out in every song.
