![]() | Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Dual-Core Processor, 2.66 GHZ, 4M L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB, LGA775
Dual core, 2.66MHz, 1333MHz front side bus, before overclocking. This CPU is in the sweet spot of price/performance. A little more performance will cost a lot. If you overclock it, replace the stock cooler - but you don't need to overclock this for good performance.

![]() | Antec Nine Hundred Steel ATX Ultimate Gamer PC Case (Black)
Buy new: $99.99 / Used from: $81.99 Good looking case with plenty of cooling using four high quality quiet fans. Front panel on the top of the case is very convenient with the computer on floor. My favorite case.

![]() | XFX GeForce 8800GT 512 MB XXX 670 Mhz PCI-E SLI Video Card (PVT88PYDD4)
Buy used from: $209.01 GeForce 8800GT is a new card and hard to get. But it is worth the wait!
New 65nm chip means it is cooler running, but performs as well as its more expensive 8800Gxx brothers, but at a significantly lower price!
I picked the XFX because of their good warranty.

![]() | Antec Neo-HE-430 430-Watt High Efficiency Power Supply Unit
You don't have to use an Antec power supply with an Antec case, but this happens to be a very nice unit. Seasonic is better, but twice the price.
430-watts is more than enough for this system. 80% efficient with so it runs cooler even though it has a quiet, low RPM fan. Modular cables so your case is not cluttered with unused cables.

![]() | Samsung SyncMaster 226BW 22-inch LCD Monitor
Buy used from: $279.00 22 inches (1680x1050) seems to be the sweet spot now. Samsung is a little more expensive than other brands, but you get 2ms response time, 3000:1 contrast, for clear, no-smear gaming.

![]() | Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard (Black)
Buy new: $69.95 / Used from: $41.95 Get the "New G15". This gamer's keyboard has been improved by making it smaller, and changing the backlight from blue (which was barely readable except in the dark) to a much more useful, and just as cool looking amber.
|
![]() | Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse (Black)
Buy new: $89.99 / Used from: $34.99 The ultimate gaming mouse. Laser accuracy, lots of buttons, very ergonomic shape (not for lefties).
I like the wireless version because you never have to worry about the cord restricting your movement. If you must have wired, get the G5 instead.

![]() | Belkin Nostromo Speedpad n52
Price has dropped with the release of the new n52te version, which adds backlighting for 2X the cost.
Use this and you will never need to look away from the screen to re-position your hand the keyboard again.
