The director's cut of the original movie, this version features more than 12 minutes of never-before-seen footage. Michael and Selene's relationship is given better development, we finally learn about Michael's past, and the fight scenes are longer and more satisfying -- as well as a sexy subplot featuring the marvellously conniving Erika.

The score to the movie. Haslinger effectively created a moody theme for the film while not creating anything truly amazing or stand-out. The orchestration is somewhat cliched, though the theme "Eternity and a Day" is an essential for any "Underworld" fan.

The sequel to the original movie, continuing the saga of Selene and Michael as they adjust to Michael's hybrid powers. However, when Marcus begins to chase the two questions are raised about Selene's past, as well as the past of the Corvinus line -- questions that will influence the future of the Underworld.

This score to the movie succeeds where Haslinger's score failed, in creating more unique orchestrations fitting the movie it created. Although it is missing the essential "Eternity and a Day" theme, Beltrami's score is worthy of any collection. Also features two bonus tracks: "Something I Could Never Have" by Flyleaf and "Cover the Sky" by cEvin kEy.

The third installment to the Underworld saga, "Rise of the Lycans" is the prequel that tells the story of Lucian and Victor -- the sweeping history and tragedy make it perhaps the most epic of the three films.

The score to the third movie. Paul Haslinger from the original score was brought back to again create a fairly lackluster score, despite some shining moments sprinkled throughout the album.

A guide to the films and the universe -- an enjoyable addition to your collection but not necessarily a must-have. "Complete Underworld" reads something like the book version of a DVD special feature, a fun little extra.
