No Country for Old MenNo Country for Old Men
Buy new: $17.49 / Used from: $2.15
#1 This story of a simple man presented with an unusual opportunity, a simple small town sheriff, and a single minded villain was the best this decade offered. There is only one scene where any two of these characters meet and no musical score. Lets see you try it.
Friday Night Lights (Widescreen Edition)Friday Night Lights (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $6.49 / Used from: $0.74
#2 The best sports movie this decade. Captures small-town America's enthusiasm for high school football pitch-perfect.
Iron Man (Single-Disc Edition)Iron Man (Single-Disc Edition)
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $2.50
#3 The best of all the superhero comic-book turned movie. Too much fun. Robert Downey Jr. continius to the mother of all comebacks.
The Brave One (Widescreen Edition)The Brave One (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $12.49 / Used from: $0.16
#4 A way underrated psych-thriller. Jodie Foster at her best. Terrence Howard great as the Detective figuring out the puzzle that seems to be already in place.
Gladiator (Widescreen Edition)Gladiator (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $2.46
#5 Ceasar loves his best warrior more than his own son and wand to make him the next Ceasar. His son finds out. DRAMA. The fight scenes in the coliseum are official. This is a modern day epic.
Batman Begins (Widescreen Edition)Batman Begins (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $1.15
#6 A very big, much needed shot in the arm for the Bat franchise. Chris Nolan is one of the top 5 directors working. Christian Bale could tone down the anger a notch, but he's still the best bat yet. The backstory, Gotham City, the sets, the cast all top-notch. Even the little known villian, Scarecrow, fit perfectly in this revamped franchise.
300 (Widescreen Edition)300 (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $1.39
#7 Okay the dialouge is a little shallow, but the story, the CGI, the fight scenes and the best trailer I can remember made this the must-see movie of 2007...and it does not disappoint.
Sin CitySin City
Buy new: $16.49 / Used from: $0.97
8# So this is what they meant by graphic novel. What's not to like about 8 million stories in Sin City? The girls are sexy, the men are honorable rogues...well... most of them. The underlying corrupt foundation of the city makes it all come to a boil. Another feast for the eyes.
Inside Man (Widescreen Edition)Inside Man (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $0.70
#9 Spike Lee's best most cohesive work this decade. This bank-heist come deal with the devil has all the right twists. Denzel Washington solidifies his "everyman" status. Clive Owen in a career changing performance as the criminal with a purpose. As close to 40's film noir as you can get today.
SawSaw
Buy new: $4.99 / Used from: $0.85
#10 The most original writing I've seen this decade. Proof? The 5 better-than-average sequals that all call on the original work. Jigsaw is killing people, but sometimes they escape. It depends on how much they want to live and now they value life. This is a horror movie but a lot smarter thanthe average slasher flick.
The Passion of the Christ (Widescreen Edition)The Passion of the Christ (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $14.49 / Used from: $1.55
HONORABLE MENTION - This is a very difficult watch. Done in a 3000 year old language, subtitles should always be on. The beating of Jeaus as he carries the cross goes on long enough to make you cry. Whether you accept the story as truth is no matter. Mel Gibson and Jim Caviezel get props for having the guts to even bring this to audiences.
