![]() | In Rainbows by Radiohead
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $4.10 I know this was released digitally in October 2007, but I waited for the physical release in January 2008. The band made their best work since 1995's "The Bends". Every song holds its own, and the album as a whole is a pleasure to listen to repeatedly.

![]() | Oracular Spectacular by MGMT
Buy new: $9.96 / Used from: $6.96 These guys managed to fly under the radar with their psychedelic weirdness. But the hooks, man, that's what makes this debut work. Definitely started the year off with a new promising act.
![]() | Vampire Weekend by Vampire Weekend
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $9.20 Another strong debut from a band that sounds like an updated Talking Heads, which is something we desperately need right now to ward off all the bland manufactured pop out there.
![]() | Time Stand Still by The Hooters
Buy new: $15.99 / Used from: $6.92 One of my favorite bands, The Hooters, returned after 15 years away with a solid album of songs including an interesting cover of Don Henley's "Boys Of Summer", but other songs like "I'm Alive", "Time Stand Still", "Morning Buzz" make this well worth the return trip.
![]() | Detours by Sheryl Crow
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $1.48 Ms. Crow returned with her best work since 1996's self titled "Sheryl Crow". The songs work well together here, with a variety of sounds and topics, with a bent towards the political. One of Sheryl Crow's best albums, and sadly overlooked.
![]() | Seventh Tree by Goldfrapp

![]() | The Odd Couple by Gnarls Barkley
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $1.97 This didn't make nearly the splash their debut made, but it was just as good. Full of unusual hooks and melodies, with wry lyrics here and there. "Blind Mary", and "Going On" are great tracks.
![]() | Accelerate by R.E.M.
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $2.48 I don't think anyone expected R.E.M. to release one of their best works in ages. The rocking "Accelerate" has more in common with "Monster" than "Up". The band rocks out in major ways here with "I'm Gonna DJ", "Living Well Is The Best Revenge".

![]() | Home Before Dark by Neil Diamond
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $0.01 Neil goes one better than his last album, "12 Songs".
