Beautiful in its unflinching willingness to suck out the truth at the core of a painful situation for its subjects, including the director who becomes woven into the lives on the screen.

Breathtaking. Much better than "Koyaanisqatsi" and "Powaqqatsi." I watch it over and over.

I didn't think I would like this as I'm far from a fan of ornithology, but it's mesmerizing

I think this is the only onscreen performance by Junior Kimbrough. That alone makes this a necessary purchase. Great scenes with R.L. Burnside, Jessie Mae Hemphill and even the Eurythmics dude turns out to be OK. Robert Palmer, not the coked-up singer, wrote a great book that goes well with this doc.

you owe it to yourself to see this if you haven't already

interesting to see because it was the first major event covered almost entirely from beginning to end by news media, even dodging bullets to cover the story

Noam Chomsky isn't the most engaging speaker. The director here realizes this and tries to shake things up a bit to keep the viewer from nodding off

would make a great double bill with "Endless Summer," no?

in a way, this real-life version is better than any version of Arthur Miller's fine play. Watching the salesmen sell themselves to the viewers in this unflinching documentary is priceless.
