Our all-time favorite! Every character is absolutely perfectly cast. The instrumental soundtrack is perfect. Al Pacino got & deserved the Academy Award for best actor. His INTEGRITY SPEECH is the greatest speech in memory. A coming of age story for a young man & a coming back to “A LIFE” for an adult. My son & I watch every time he comes to my house. HOO! HAA! Colonel Frank Slade is in the house!

If you ever REALLY LOVED BASEBALL then this movie is for you. For any man or child who ever played the game & dreamed of being a big leaguer… the entire script is absolute heavenly poetry dedicated to the magic of baseball. BUILD IT & HE WILL COME. Father’s watch this with your son… if he has his heart & mind in the right place; the ending will bring tears & love for his Dad.

A great Father and son story. Robert Duvall as the military Father who though a little overboard in raising his son… the big picture is, he’s getting him ready for the world… when the day comes… that he’s gone. Great Father & son basketball game… and great scene in the son’s coming of age high school basketball game.

This gut-wrenching documentary of the life of the famed Nazi-Hunter Simon Wiesenthal is absolutely tremendous. When Mr. Wiesenthal gives an acceptance speech for an award… you will not be able to hold back your tears. My son and I watched this on Yom Kippur.

Russell Crowe should have won the best actor award. An Australian he nailed the “joisey” accent. The fight scenes were way more realistic than the Rocky’s type. One of my favorite character actors Paul Giamatti turned in another excellent performance.

I've always been a big Paul Newman fan. Had to introduce my son to some of his classics. It's unbelievable he didn't win the Oscar for this. Newman shooting pool was the only non-sport poster on my wall as a teenager. Move over "Fat's" I can't see. Gleason was unbelievable as Minnesota Fat's.

This is a really special, personal movie between my son and I. there are some scenes that we relate directly to our real lives. There isn’t enough room in this space to discuss it. Denzel is great. An absolute scene and movie stealer is the guy who plays the agent with the Rolex watch and indoor basketball court.

Every guy I know loves this flick. Even my namesake “SHAQ” loves it. More guys have a Scarface poster or picture in their house or garage than any movie I know of. “LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO MY “LEETLE” FRIEND!” A young Michelle Pfeiffer looks great to Father and son! Hoo! Haa!

This movie got awful reviews & bombed in the theatres… but my son & I die laughing every time we watch it… which is often. Ed O’Neil is a comedic classic as “DUTCH DOOLEY”. The scene at the homeless shelter where Dutch’s cot squeaks & collapses, we always rewind that part at least 3 times every time we watch it & laugh loud enough to wake the neighbors. (Who cares we don’t like the neighbor’s!)

I am a Viet Nam era veteran, and basic training is realistically re-created. Some men do have weaknesses that have never been exposed before the physical and mental stresses that are demanded of a young man preparing for war. I witnessed seemingly normal young men crackup in environments such as this.
