![]() | Blott on the Landscape by Tom Sharpe
Buy used from: $23.90 Sharpe is one of those writers who lulls you into thinking "nothing's happening" and then hits you over the head with a sentence that is so uproariously funny you can't stop laughing. If I wasn't already on the floor, I would have fallen on it.

![]() | The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 25th Anniversary Edition by Douglas Adams
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $9.54 Douglas Adams is so wonderfully, so gloriously, so Britishally (huh?) clever that each sentence is an experience unto itself. All of the Hitchhiker's trilogy (in four parts) is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.

![]() | A Year in the Merde by Stephen Clarke
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $0.96 Hold on to your hats, boys and girls, this ain't no Year in Provence. It's good old-fashioned, bawdy British humor of the kind Shakespeare loved (if only we could understand it).
