David Niven steals the show as the Bishop in this version. I'm a huge Denzel Washington fan, but the Preacher's Wife lacks David Niven's angst and wit.

Any time you combine John Hughes and the holidays, it's a good story.

I actually like this one better, the snow and airplanes are more festive.

Again with John Hughes and the holidays. This is another get home for Thanksgiving movie, a la Planes, Trains & Automobiles - not quite as good, but how many Thankgiving movies do you have to watch? It's cute and worth it!

I think this one should have been called "Glimpse" but what do I know.

Beautiful movie! Ving Rhames plays a devout drag queen that befriends a recovering drug addict (played by the incomparable Alfre Woodard, also a modern holiday queen) and her daughter after his longtime lover dies. There is also a scene in which they are watching the Mahaila Jackson version of "Imitation of Life."
