![]() | Goldfinger
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $5.31 (Bond #3) The most famous and classic Bond film, it introduced the famous gadgets and tongue-in-cheek humor that were often overdone later in the series. It does, however, hold up well and is great fun with timeless scenes. Sean Connery is witty, fun, and believable as an action hero.
![]() | Casino Royale (2-Disc Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $1.95 (Bond #21) The newest Bond film, which stands with the classic old ones. Daniel Craig is at the same level as Sean Connery, though plays the character with passion and a realistic edge. Amazing and exciting action, drama, and realistic visual effects that are done with "old-fashioned" reality make this pretty remarkable.
![]() | Thunderball
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $4.72 (Bond #4) Held the record for the most paid admissions for any Bond movie (and might still hold it, unless Casino Royale beat it). Thunderball is well-shot, and features countless action scenes. This is a classic and should be looked upon as entertainment.
![]() | From Russia With Love
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $5.91 (Bond #2) The most realistic and dark of the Connery Bond films, it is entertaining and features great acting. Down-to-earth, basic, and fun.
![]() | Dr. No
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $1.90 (Bond #1) Yes, it's campy, but it is still entertaining and stands with the other Connery 007 films.
![]() | You Only Live Twice
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $6.96 (Bond #5) Not as good as the ones preceeding it, but still pretty good. Featured the largest set-pieces and highest-budget action scenes of any Sean Connery Bond movie.
![]() | Diamonds Are Forever
Buy used from: $18.99 (Bond #7) The one that introduced the slapstick humor that would haunt the series for almost 15 years. It's the only good one to feature this humor, and though it features some lame and embarassing moments, it still holds up okay as a film. It's entertaining, though somewhat campy at times. A plus is Connery's return since his one-film absence.
![]() | The Living Daylights
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $4.32 (Bond #15) The first serious, hard-edged Bond movie since From Russia With Love. Timothy Dalton is not as good as Sean Connery, but is better than Moore and Lazenby. It's somewhere between okay and good, so it's got entertainment value.
![]() | Quantum of Solace (Two-Disc Special Edition)
Buy new: $22.49 / Used from: $8.74 Not terrible....but not great. A disappointing addition that is overly serious but also extremely far-fetched. Some great locations and architecture are seen, but the shaky, quick-cut camera hurts the action, and makes it feel like a mediocre Bourne movie.
![]() | The Spy Who Loved Me
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $4.96 (Bond #10) There are some famous scenes in here, but it has the uncanny ability to frustrate viewers with one character: Jaws. Jaws fights, gets killed, but WAIT! he's alive, then he fights, gets killed, and so on. Roger Moore is not as good as Sean Connery, nor is he believable in any of his Bond movies, and from the start is way to old to play James Bond.
![]() | Octopussy
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $2.93 (Bond #13) The same level as The Spy Who Loved Me. They almost succeeded in eliminating the slapstick humor from this one too, but it still survives, such as in cartoony sound effects and Bond's Tarzan yell when he swings on a vine.
![]() | GoldenEye
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $4.22 (Bond #17) It's quite well-liked by many people, but has no real value in any respect. There is some good acting, and Pierce Brosnan is a solid actor himself. The problem with him is that he is not believable and is fairly thin and refined, so his stunts are pretty ridiculous. This film is just not that great, but has some entertaining moments.
![]() | Tomorrow Never Dies
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $5.44 (Bond #18) The same level as Goldeneye, it is nothing special or progressive whatsoever. It also holds entertaining moments, but relies on gadgets and special effects.
![]() | The World Is Not Enough
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $6.27 (Bond #19) Yet again nothing special. Typical action-flick with a mediocre story. Holds good parts, but Denise Richards' acting is pretty awful.
![]() | Licence To Kill
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $3.98 (Bond #16) Mediocre like the Pierce Brosnan movies. Surprisingly violent, this one has some gory moments in it. Mediocre describes it perfectly.
![]() | For Your Eyes Only
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $3.77 (Bond #12) Did a fair job getting rid of the slapstick humor that plagued most of Roger Moore's movies. Has some interesting moments, but is nothing memorable.
![]() | On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Buy used from: $4.68 (Bond #6) Apart from some good acting, this one is pretty lame. It manages to be extremely boring in the middle, with Diana Rigg's performance to save some of it. George Lazenby is nowhere near as good as Sean Connery, and the reason nobody remembers him is because he did nothing memorable in this movie.
![]() | Live and Let Die
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $5.57 (Bond #8) Extremely campy, this one shows a huge amount of terrible slapstick humor. Fights are played for laughs, realism is completely dropped, people swallow compressed air and blow up like balloons, and every peril allows some previously unknown gadget save the day. The only plus is Paul McCartney's great theme song.
![]() | Moonraker
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $6.19 (Bond #11) Yet again the lame humor prevails. Jaws is back, and wait, he has a girlfriend? Adrenaline, suspense, excitement, and thrills are all left behind, so just sit and watch Bond win.
![]() | A View to a Kill
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $8.98 (Bond #14) Painful to watch. Roger Moore's last Bond outing features him at 58 years old. I mean, how can he be taken seriously anyway? Then the slapstick humor brings countless embarassing moments, including Bond dodging gunfire while sledding down a mountainside, with "California Girls" playing in the background.
![]() | Die Another Day (Full Screen Special Edition)
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $0.01 (Bond #20) Pretty awful. Everything is science-fiction, with no realism whatsoever. The action scenes have no excitement, for nothing is possible, and everything is obviously computer-generated.
![]() | The Man With The Golden Gun
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $6.28 (Bond #9) An absolute mess. Slapstick humor at its worst. Bond escapes by giving villains wedgies and kicking them in certain sensitive places. An amazing car stunt is covered by a cartoony sound effect. A midget runs around in circles yelling and slapping Bond. Christopher Lee's performance is great, but that's it.
