I never read Grafton's alphabet series when they were first written. It is a delight to go back to the early '80s when they were first published. Kinsey has to function without a cell phone, a computer, the internet, etc! People are always coming in her office and lighting up cigarets causing her to find her ashtray. She is also bold enough to use the "f-bomb" which created a stir in that era.

Great fun! Just like the title and Ciover seem to promise. Quck easy read that was completely entertaining.

Mayhem breaks out at the family parish school. Nuala Anne & Dermot solve a current mystery for their nanny. They also delve into a story of a young woman who emigrated to Chicago as an orphan. She is adopted by a doctor & ends up going to Medical School at University of Chicago. She is the first female student & has a significant impact on the Chicago medical community.

I listened to this in the car. Fun story about late 30 something school friends reuniting because of the sudden death of one of them.

I listened to this on CD. It is a wonderfully entertaining collection of short stories. My very favorite is the "neighbopr lady" who writes a letter to her neighbor's daughter who is grown up and moved away. She is explaining her recipe for apple pie in a homey delightful manner. It made me want to try the recipe.

A delightful early Macomber love story about a pair who can't get along and have to agree to disagree until they finally agree!

First in Andrews' bird series. Great fun and sillyness.

Wonderful 1st book in trilogy set in TX in mid 1800s. 3 brothers and their baby sister live on an isolated ranch. The middle brother falls in love in this one.

The youngest brother falls hard in this book.

The best of the 1st 3. She unravels the murder (faked accident) of a friend she meets at the gym as he rehabs from the first set-up "accidnet" that didn't kill him.

Terrific true tale of a father's journey in adopting 2 Chinese dauthers and how it changes his life and thinking.

Delightful first novel from an author who dies unexpectedly during the rewriting process. She asked her niece to complete it. It is a well-written tale of the German occupation of the island of Guernsey during WWII.

We listened to this in the car. It startts with Stone loosing his newest love interest...takes him to London where he encounters the lovly Arrington as well as another ex, Sarah. Includes espionage and lots of twists in London.

I listedn to this on tape...very enjopyable 1`st Jack Swyteck novle. Full of all the background details of Jack's relationship with his day and other trauma's.

A great quick fun read that leaves Stone again without a ladie at the end. He reconnects with Captenter (actually named Felicity Devonshore) and a hige operative in the British intellegence. She is hunting and being hunted by a very skilled female asassin who ends up hiring Stone as her attorney.

Very interesting "biography" of the Statue of Liberty. It's my 4th of July weekend reading choice. It starts with a bio of Auguste Bartoldi the scupter of the Statue. Very interesting reading.

I'm listening to this in the car. VERY thought-provoking story of Madeline whole is injured as a young bride and is left with the mental capacity of a 12 year old. Her husband and nurse fall in love and end up keeping her as their "child."

A totally irreverant tale of Washington DC bureaucracy filled with government spoofs.
