![]() | King Kong (Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $27.49 / Used from: $4.86 Probably the best adventure film of all time, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" excepted. Fay Wray was brilliant in this fine classic B&W movie. Forget all the remakes -- the is the Real McCoy!

![]() | And Then There Were None
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $3.67 There are multiple entries of this classic Agatha Christie mystery. This one is in B&W, filmed in 1945 and is fairly true to the book. There are some pretty hokey moments but, still, the film is a great one. Ten people are systematically murdered while they are trapped on an Island.
![]() | Ten Little Indians
Buy new: $5.79 / Used from: $6.00 This is Christie's "And Then There Were None" re-done, starring Hugh O'Brian, Stanley Holloway and Fabian. Instead of an island, though, these ten find themselves on an Alpine mountaintop where they are trapped in a mansion, all being knocked off one at a time. Fabian is awful but, otherwise, it's a lot of fun. B&W, 1965.

![]() | Charlie Chan in Meeting at Midnight
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $0.74 This is a fun Charlie Chan (Sidney Toler) entry where Mantan Morland (much comic relief!) finds himself working in a creepy house where seances are performed. A murder ensues and, through a comedy of errors, Charlie's daughter becomes a suspect. Well, Charlie fixes THAT little problem!
![]() | The Flying Serpent
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $5.26 I think that this is Zucco's best film as the lead actor. He's a mad doctor who unleashes a relic of ancient terror (flying serpent) on those who cross him. He's found a huge cache of Aztec gold in a lost city and he plans to keep it for himself! Cool old cars and great locations in this one. "Bad Guy" Terry Frost is in this one too. One of my top 5 films.
![]() | Sherlock Holmes: The Voice of Terror
Buy new: $17.99 / Used from: $9.77 Get this print of the film for top clarity. Those dang Nazis are at it again. They broadcast a prophecy of various disasters in England and, as soon as they do, it happens! A fine Basil Rathbone B&W entry in the series.
![]() | The Big Sleep
Buy new: $5.79 / Used from: $5.75 This classic film is a super value -- there's a different version on each side of the disc! Anyway, this is the best Bogart film ever made. He plays Private Detective Phillip Marlowe, uncovering all manner of murder and intrigue in this one. Also starring Lauren Bacall. An incredible film!
![]() | Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton Film Collection (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf 2-Disc Special Edition / The Comedians / The Sandpiper / The V.I.P.s) 5 Disc Set
Buy new: $49.98 / Used from: $23.50 Go ahead and grab this set -- all 4 Taylor-Burton films are super, the best being either "The Comedians" (Dr. Duvalier's Haiti terror), or "The V.I.P's" bulging with big stars and a great story about infidelity to boot. This is the pinnacle of Hollywood film excellence.
![]() | I Bury the Living
Buy new: $7.98 / Used from: $0.70 Richard Boone ("Have Gun Will Travel") plays a non-traditional role where he runs a cemetary and his pals begin dying as soon as he takes over the job. An unusual, but great, horror flick. B&W.
![]() | The Agatha Christie Miss Marple Movie Collection (Murder at the Gallop / Murder Ahoy / Murder Most Foul / Murder She Said)
Buy new: $35.49 / Used from: $29.59 These are 4 super-great Agatha Christie mystery films, all starring Margaret Rutherford as the persistent Miss Marple, amateur detective. The best of the 4 is "Murder She Said," from Christie's "4:50 from Paddington". Creepy house and murder. All are British films, shot in B&W.
![]() | Charlie Chan in London
A very OLD film, but a fair entry. Charlie has to get a guy off of death row in 40 hours by finding the real killer. The action is at an English Mansion where a foxhunt transpires for the weekend. This movie is the premise for "Gosford Park," also an awesome (but newer) movie.
![]() | Avengers '65 - Set 1, Vols. 1 & 2
Buy used from: $36.29 Not strictly a "film" but Diana Rigg really kicks off this series (there were 2 previous gals in the role) with her pal, Patrick Macnee. The whole '65 series is available -- I'm including this series because it's incredible and fun stuff. B&W.
![]() | Avengers '66 - Set 1, Vol. 1 & 2
Buy used from: $19.51 Not strictly a "film" but, again, Diana Rigg really moves this series along with her pal, Patrick Macnee. The whole '66 series is available -- I'm including this series because it's incredible and fun stuff. Don't pass this by! All B&W.
![]() | The Avengers - '63 Set 4
Buy used from: $10.95 The entire set is available -- while not as good as Diana Rigg, Honor Blackman began this series with Patrick Macnee and she grows on you. (There's one other gal in a few episodes too). The '63 and '64 productions are inferior to the Rigg Series but, still, it's super stuff. This was the first year for "The Avengers".
![]() | Charlie Chan in The Chinese Cat
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $2.48 I got an old DVD store copy but it's in great condition. This one was made by Monogram, and while it's not one of the top 3 Chan films, it's certainly worth watching. A novelist's book hits too close to an actual murder. Charlie bails out the aggrieved family. Plenty of atmosphere! Good stuff.
![]() | Salome [VHS]
Buy used from: $3.00 VHS -- this does not appear to be available on DVD yet but is worth watching in any format. It's the well-made biblical tale of Salome, Herod and John the Baptist. Rita Hayworth and Stuart Granger are incredible. A color film with all the high-priced settings -- don't let this sleeper pass you by.
![]() | Horror Express [VHS]
Buy used from: $1.95 I loved this horror flick! I got mine for $1 at the dollar store and you get fooled by the cheap packaging... don't be! Christopher Lee is super in this budget film and Telly Savalas plays a great Cossack who takes over a Siberian train, plagued by an alien monster that Lee unearthed. A huge bargain!
![]() | The Devil's Brigade
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $4.47 Great cinematography and a good story. Some would say ripoff of "The Dirty Dozen" but, not so. While the story has similarities, there's enough different to not remind you of that other fine film. A sleeper of a WW II movie. Alex North ("Cleopatra") yields a fine filmscore here. Watch it! Color.
![]() | The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly - Extended Cut (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)
Buy used from: $5.43 The finest "Spaghetti Western" of all time, and for me, the very best western of ANY genre. The characters are incredibly realistic, incredible cinematography and a filmscore that makes you whistle along. This one is pure treasure. Don't miss it. Color, widescreen, 1966.
![]() | A Fistful of Dollars
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $0.61 Eastwood's dubut "Spaghetti Western," directed by Sergio Leone. "The Man With No Name" (fast-drawing Eastwood) does in a pack of criminals. Superb cinematography and filmscore. Color and widescreen -- don't miss it.
![]() | For a Few Dollars More [Region 2]
Buy new: $44.49 / Used from: $2.70 The second installment of director Sergio Leone's "Man With No Name" (Eastwood) entry. Ennio Morricone's haunting filmscore is, in itself, worth the money! The story: Who gets Indio first: Eastwood or Van Cleef? Then they team to take on a whole pack of outlaws! Color, widescreen, everything....
![]() | Hang 'Em High
Buy new: $9.49 / Used from: $2.65 NOT a Leone "Spaghetti Western" but it may as well be -- it's great! Ted Post directs this one where bad guys find out really quick that you don't DARE try to hang Eastwood! Great cinematography, top filmscore (Dominic Frontiere), super story. Widescreen, color, awesome.
