For quick adjustments, you can't beat this head! Plus, even though it says "horizontal grip," it can be modified to be a vertical grip head, according to the instructions, though I haven't tried that yet.

Fantastic low-light lens! My first lens under f/3.5. Great for a "walk-around" prime (non-zoom) lens on a non-full frame camera.

For indoor and indoor-action shots, get the f/2.8L IS. But for the money, this lens is sweet! For a bit more money than this, the 70-200mm IS f/4L has the best image quality of the four 70-200mm lenses. It is a completely different lens from the standard f/4L. If you don't need the larger-apertured f/2.8 version, I highly recommend going with the f/4L with IS.

Great daypack! My most-used camera backpack. Holds my 40D, 70-200mm f/4L, 16-35mm f/2.8L, Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX, 430EX flash, plus assorted gear, with room in the top portion for food/etc... Also has a laptop pocket which holds my 17" Macbook Pro.

A "must have" for any photographer. This holds two batteries and has a shutter and scroll wheel for vertical shots. If you have one of the Digital Rebel cameras, Canon makes a version for that camera, also.

This plus the rubber eyecup keeps your nose from smudging the screen so much.

The perfect size for modern digital SLRs. Buy a couple and switch them out before they're full, so all your eggs are not in one basket! These cards are incredibly fast! This is the CF card to get!

Tried Aperture for awhile, but found that I liked Lightroom better. I love the fact that Lightroom doesn't use "rider" files to save photo adjustments. Lightroom just puts the info in the image file itself. It also works well with DNG format and is more frequently updated for just-released cameras. I find myself using Lightroom more and Photoshop less.

A good book with nice full-color photos and decent, heavy pages.
