Incredible movie about the causes and results of blocking out the rest of the world emotionally. Bob Geldof plays a great Pink. Read about the album/movie then watch again and again.

Thrash metal perfected, while adding in the first slower song, "Fade to Black". Also very informative on many possible ways to die: being trapped under ice, suicide, electric chair, war, etc.

Although the bass is turned way down on this one to be spiteful of rookie Jason Newsted, this is another powerful must-own from Metallica. One word: One.

Very emotional performance, great music, and a great way to remember Kurt Cobain. The covers are the best part of the album, with songs like "Oh Me", "Where Did You Sleep Last Night", and "Lake of Fire". The album will leave you emotionally drained in a good way.

4 Disc Set with all of the essential Led Zeppelin. If you don't have all Zeppelin albums and you're not a die hard fan, this set will suffice.

I still can't believe they could come back from the death of their lead singer with such greatness. This album is by far their best.

The time and dedication Bruce put into this one really paid off. He knew it was make-it-or-break-it time and did he ever make it. You can feel his desire to produce greatness with each song on this album, from Born to Run to Jungleland. Must-own music

November Rain - possibly the best song of the 1990s. Also has "Don't Cry" and a ton of other GnR classics.

Heavy heavy Seattle rock with Chris Cornell. Black Hole Sun, My Wave, Fell on Black Days, The Day I Tried to Live, Limo Wreck. I get excited just thinking about the music.

2 CDs, 2 very different CDs. But both are full of awesome hard rock. The first is all new covers, which is very good. It has hits like "Tuesday's Gone", "Turn the Page", and "Whiskey in the Jar". The second CD has their covers from the late 80's, including hits from New Wave of British Heavy Metal bands, like "Small Hours" and "Am I Evil?" This second CD is much harder.

Much much better than St. Anger, Load, & ReLoad. At least they're trying to get back to their roots: heavy metal and trusting Kirk with long solos. They've even graced us with an instrumental for the first time in 20 years (if you count "To Live is to Die").

People who consider themselves die hard Metallica fans put this one down just because they played with an orchestra, but the truth is that it sounds pretty cool, especially the new singles from the record. Definitely worth a listen.

Great use of a tuba and a fun atmosphere with a live music feeling. There is something truly innocent about the sound.

If you're looking for singles, this one is not for you. But the music is original and incredible. Albums like this make me truly love listening to music. I always seem to play this album twice.

I know this one doesn't really fit in with the rest of my list, but really, how can you argue with Jimmy Buffett. His music will always put you in a good mood, and he doesn't take himself too seriously, so there's no need to judge the lyrics or his antics. Great for summer parties.

Sad and uplifting at the same time if you listen to all the lyrics. Also the first great album with the E Street Band in a long long time. It's good to have them back.

Really great album with Springsteen and the band. Good old rockin' Bruce as we knew him in the 70's, but with joy instead of depression.
