![]() | From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.01 I loved this book when I read it in Elementary school. For the most part it takes place in a museum, and one of my focuses in university is, funnily enough, Museum Studies.

![]() | The Complete Anne of Green Gables Boxed Set (Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, Anne of the Island, Anne of Windy Poplars, Anne's House of Dreams, ... Rainbow Valley, Rilla of Ingleside) by L.M. Montgomery
Buy new: $27.73 / Used from: $19.95 Yet another favorite from grade school. I had seen the CBC Movie/Mini-Series at a fairly young age and fell in love with Anne and all of her antics. I loved the books even more than the movies, so I would highly suggest getting the Boxed Set of the novels. I was disappointed when they came to an end, I would loved to have read even more about Anne and her family.

![]() | Little Women (Unabridged Classics) by Louisa May Alcott

![]() | Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister: A Novel by Gregory Maguire
Buy new: $10.88 / Used from: $0.74 A historical fiction/ somewhat fantasy novel. A twist on the Cinderella tale.

![]() | Pride and Prejudice (Vintage Classics) by Jane Austen
Buy new: $7.95 / Used from: $0.01 Another classic. (Any Jane Austen book comes highly recommended by me, but P&P is my favorite Austen novel). I think a recent survey determined P&P to be the "most romantic" novel of all time. It's hard not to fall in love with Lizzy Bennett and her family and friends. A strong, intelligent, independent woman that learns from her mistakes in the end - a great role model for girls.

Ms. Leon writes in a very entertaining style, I thoroughly enjoyed all of her Uppity Women books (first read during high school). All feminist characters and contributors to world history. Wonderful inspirations to teens and women interested in history or feminism.
