Rosie and Michael are best friends. They are pals for life... they know each other's favorite ice cream flavor, and the right present to get for a birthday. Perfect for boys and girls.

Beautifully illustrated and sweetly told edition of the original Ukrainian folk tale. I remember this from my childhood; I remember reading it to my younger sister; and, judging from the response of grandmas who come in the store, this is a favorite for many generations.

An original, funny, colorful, and surprising retelling of the "ugly duckling". One of the best things about it is that you don't realize that it is the same theme as the ugly duckling, and so the ending is such a surprise! The colorful illustrations are fantastic.

James Herriot's books for adults -- memoirs of his many years as a country vet -- are dear classics, but many people don't realize he wrote many wonderful children's stories. Oscar is by far my favorite.

As soon as I read this book, I immediately bought a copy for my almost 2 year old niece, who is obsessed with cats. She loves it! And I smile every time I walk by the shelf where it is in our store.
