I wish this could have a thumbnail so you could see the cover illustration! The main characters are five little girls from each of the burrows of NY. The text is concise and pleasingly repetitive. "I go with my family by (trolley, ferry, bike, car, or wagon) ... to Grandma's" The pictures are elaborate and are the main means of conveying the story.

Buy used from: $0.49 Another without a picture! So sad... The pictures are by Diane Goode, the same illustrator as "I Go with My to Grandma's." The story is about a little girl and her little brother lost in early 20th century Paris. They travel around the city with a policeman as they describe their mama to him.

Buy new: $9.97 / Used from: $5.73 Ah, this is probably is on every children's book list, but for a good reason! This was by far my favorite bedtime story as a little girl. Maurice Sendak's pictures are atypical but mysterious and the wild rumpus is a great opportunity for doing voices - The kids eat it up!
