Buy used from: $18.95 Do not get the "Tribute to Phil Spector: Christmas Album- -- the extra $1.50 is worth it. Absolute classics of R&B, Soul, etc., including The Ronettes and The Crystals. The man was a genius of record production, and this early 1960s classic is Spector in his prime.

Buy used from: $29.98 Tiny Tim was possibly the weirdest musician to emerge to some degree of stardom in the 1960s, and this collection of Christmas music confirms that. His creepy falsetto rendition of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" is included on John Waters' compilation, but this has so much more.

Buy new: $15.98 / Used from: $4.99 Projekt Records' first compilation of Goth/ethereal Christmas music and probably the best. Eva O's rendition of "O Holy Night" is probably the finest piece of music she's recorded since Shadow Project disbanded in 1997.

Buy used from: $30.99 Projekt's second volume of Goth and ethereal Christmas music. Considerably less "dark" than the first one. Nothing really shines out on this one, but The Cruxshadows' version of John & Yoko's "Happy X-mas (War Is Over)" is MUCH more respectful to the original than Melissa Etheride's "zomg! anti-war songs shouldn't be cynical!" crap-fest.
