Barbra's swan song. It took forever to make into a movie based on a short story. It has taken just as long to be released on DVD (FEB 2009). The entire film is like butter!

Winner of the Best Picture Oscar and many other major awards, too many to list here. The captivating performance by Sir Ben Kingsley is truly remarkable. This film will have you quoting the great man of so little clothing.

When I first saw this film in 1975 at the theater, the "duh-dunh" music told me when to go refill the popcorn or some other lame excuse to go to the lobby. When I watch it in my own house-there is no where to go! This movie is great because you don't even have to see the shark and you are scared!

Each time, upon returning to this film, I am reminded of Steven Spielberg's incredible talent. The story is engrossing and the realness of the characters is remarkable. These people are your next door neighbors freaking out!

Late 60's musical based on a broadway play based on the life of a real life Broadway Ziegfield Girl named Fanny Brice. Barbara Streisand won Best Actress for her debut film role and deservedly so. Credit also goes to the director whose lingering shots of Barbara's imperfections as her perfect voice thrills your aural senses is divine!

Mel and Sigourney had terrific chemistry. To me that is what makes this film stand out. There are other outstanding qualities. One of which is Linda Hunt's Best Supporting Actress win while playing a man. Another being the Indonesian scenery, albeit a beseiged one. Mostly it is watching the performance of the 2 main characters as they fall in love amid the turmoil of civil war in 1965.

Based on the E.M. Forster novel and directed by David Lean, this film is glorious in it's love for the Indian Countryside. At the same time exposing the dark prejudice that lurks in the shadows.

"Esssssssthhhhhvvvvvvv", slurps Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal the Cannibal. Jodie Foster as Agent Starling seeks the truth from a known captured psychotic about another killer's wherabouts in exchange for a "special friendship". Yikes!

Pure entertainment! Complete with a totally 80's soundtrack and a yearbook's worth of mostly unknown Actors who went on to become hugely successful! Mira Sorvino and Alan Cummings are just a couple of them. The dialougue between these two friends on their way to their 10 year reunion is priceless.

I enjoy all the versions. This Ridley Scott film makes the future look very bleak. Great performances by Harrison Ford, Daryl Hannah, Rutger Hauer and Sean Young. Music by Vangelis.

Reluctant rebels, played by Susan Sarandon and Gina Davis traverse the western states in search of freedom. Brad Pitt makes a stunning appearance as well. Ridley Scott directs.

Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are hysterically funny in this wonderful 1980 film. I especially love the line, "I just killed the Boss, don't you think they're gonna fire me for a thing like that?"

Sigourney Weaver as Dian Fossey. Filmed on location in Rwanda and Congo where the dense jungle and the amazing Mountain Gorillas are the stars. Tragic and heartbreaking as it is-it is still a gorgeous sight seeing these peaceful creatures doing what they do. Sigourney was awesome here!

Timeless and very entertaining. starring 2 of today's busiest actresses: Toni Collette and Rachel Griffiths. With a thing for ABBA music and n overwhelming desire to be married, the main character runs off from her small town to Sydney in search of love.

The original only-PLEASE. Norma Shearer and Joan Crawford spar with each other and everyone else in this all female cast. Better pay attention, it is easy to miss things as they move and talk very fast.
