Magnificently served by a top notch duo of powerful actors, Mel Gibson and Sigourney Weaver. The scenery is breathtaking, as is the story line and the actual event that are described. A must-see for any would-be journalist, and any avid fan of Asia's history.
	Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (Full Screen Edition) Buy used from: $2.00 Unconventional depiction of the mental struggle between feelings and reason of two opposite souls who love each other but just can't live together. Nostalgia-loaded movie. Will twist your heart at the end...
	The Pianist Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $7.68 Probably one of the best documented and realistic fiction movies ever made on WWII's jewish holocaust shown through the fate of a lonely survivor in Varsaw's ruins. Acting is top notch, shooting is documentary-style, (Chopin) music is the icing on the cake!
	Into the Wild Buy new: $17.49 / Used from: $4.67 A very fine movie about human loneliness and unquenchable search for truth. Many have missed the point in this movie: it's not about the beauty of nature, it's about a lost soul looking for truth. The real message is conveyed in one of the last sentences: "happiness exists only when it is shared". Beautiful.

An intimate, beautiful, nostalgic depiction of life and the passing of time through plenty of beautiful and poetic metaphors. The landscapes are of a spectacular beauty, as well as the characters' personalities that are featured in this movie.
	The Damned Buy new: $5.79 / Used from: $3.70 An unconventional movie on pre-WWII's Germany. The graphic illustration of German nobleness' decadence, shown through the life of a young, handsome inheritor of wealth. Punchy, graphic, unforgettable in many ways.
	Birdy [Region 2] Buy used from: $49.99 One of the bravest movies ever made on human mental isolation. Both the acting, scenario and shooting styles are superb. Probably Nicolas Cage's greatest acting performances of his career.
	Blade Runner - The Final Cut (Two-Disc Special Edition) Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $7.05 One of the best rendition of a not-so-far future in which androids are used to serve mankind. A terrible account of human short-sighted, God-mimicking megalomania that is denounced by its very creation. Some of the scenes are of mythical reach, such as the giant skyscraper's advertising board for Japanese stuff, or the android leader's dying scene. Truly a masterpiece of anticipation cinema.
	The Fifth Element (Ultimate Edition) Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $2.85 Certainly not a thought-provoking movie, but probably one of the most coherent, harmonious, versatile Sci-Fi movies ever made. Mixes the very, very best of French creativity with American resources, professionalism and acting. A true jewel of its very kind.
	The Jungle Book (40th Anniversary Platinum Edition) Buy new: $19.99 / Used from: $11.90 My favorite cartoon of all times. By far. Both intended for young and/or mature audiences. A genuine ode to friendship, empathy, and tolerance. Characters of various animal species manage to understand and accept each other. Plenty of action, fun, emotion. Walt Disney's ultimate masterpiece in my eyes...
	Starship Troopers Buy new: $8.49 / Used from: $2.94 Very often seen as a dumb/boring, naive -if not worse- movie by those who watch it at the first level. But... the second level watching is what gives the movie its real power. It is a vivid denunciation of militarism under the cover of protecting freedom, endoctrination, an ode to free thinking and independence. Definitely thought-provoking!
	Gladiator (Widescreen Edition) Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $2.88 Gladiator is the perfect epic movie. Crowe delivers an out-of-this-world acting performance under the skin of an admirable, deeply human General. Rome's rendition, combat scenes, lighting, soundtrack and acting are at the very top of what movies might offer. The Romans' victory over the Germans is a masterpiece in itself.
	The Matrix Buy used from: $0.01 An original and challenging storyline, top special FX -still technically unmatched today for some of them!- a bunch of good players and a strong visual personality with a soundtrack that sticks to the very letter of the story make this Sci-Fi movie a truly unique work of art with enough thought-provoking material on the man-to-machine real interface to make people at least wonder...
