Don't let the negative reviews fool you, Anthony Marinelli has produced a wonderful remix album! It brings Herb Alpert's music to a new audience while maintaining the enjoyability of the originals. It features Thievery Corporation, the Dust Brothers, Ozomatli, and Mocean Worker, and is great if you prefer pop song structure to the "wait four measures and I'll change the loop slightly" mentality.

This includes the first three Verve Remixed albums and a fourth disc with alternate and extended mixes. There's good variety, although most fits into the dance genre and Volume 3 is pretty synth-heavy. I like Mr. Scruff's take on Archie Shepp on Volume Two. A fourth Verve Remixed came out in spring of 2008. There are also Verve Un-Mixed compilations corresponding to each of the four volumes.

Great background music for parties. Mr. Scruff creates some really cool loops and twists them around for all they're worth. Also check out his albums "Keep it Real" and "Mr. Scruff."

A really nice compilation of reused tracks from Free the Robots, Mocean Worker, and others. I've seen pictures of a CD version, but it appears to be a very limited European release.

The sixth entry in the Mushroom Jazz series came out in October of 2008.

This is the only CD I've bought where I want to like it, but it just gives me too much of a headache. Listen to the samples to see whether you're up to the challenge. It includes remixes from Chris Joss, Thunderball, and DJ Spooky.

Mojo Club has released over a dozen "Dancefloor Jazz" compilations of unaltered jazz tracks. The two Mojo Club Remix Albums feature tracks more closely approximating the music I imagine they played in the Mojo Club in Germany.

This is from the mid-nineties and sounds like it, but if that's alright with you, you'll enjoy this laid-back CD.

There are dozens of these This is Acid Jazz compilations from Instinct, including multiple best-of collections, the After Hours series, a New Voices series, Jazz com Bossa, and "Cool Struttin'," whatever that is. I haven't heard any of them, but the After Hours series features artists like DJ Krush.

The jazz group Re:Jazz played accoustic versions of electronic tracks from the INFRACom! catalogue, which were then remixed and put on this album.

The corny rapping on every track will turn off most people.

This album just isn't very jazzy. It seems too much like Verve dug up Nina Simone's vocals and set them to mediocre pop music. Verve also released Billie Holiday Remixed & Reimagined.

James Hardway strikes again with this collection of remixes which includes multiple Marilyn Monroe songs for some reason.
