1980. 'Excuse me stewardess, I speak jive.' OMG, I still pee my pants. The biggest of Abrahams and Zucker. And, it was the beginning of Leslie Nielsen's successfully comic film career.

1980. 'Roll me in designer sheets...' Giorgio Moroder was king of the disco film composers. Richard Gere shows his schlong, and becomes an International sex symbol. The DVD needs the Remaster treatment. Because you know you wanna zoom in on it.

1982. 'I wanna fly jets, sir.' Lou Gossett Jr. kicks the crap out of Richard Gere, but he still graduates. These guys did so many push-ups in this flick, I got tired just watching them. In the 80's, I watched this about 10 times on SelecTV. Does anyone remember SelecTV? One channel. Movies 24 hours a day.

1984. 'A real bachelor party. With guns, and drugs, and firetrucks, and hookers!' Believe it or not, I went to few bachelor parties in the 80's that were almost as crazy as this one. Right on the money!

1985. I wish I had a Delorean with a time machine so I could travel back to the 80's.

1984. Remember when Eddie Murphy movies were good? But, I can't even look at the cover for this flick without hearing that ridiculous Axel Foley synthesized theme music. Sheesh, it was everywhere.

1983. Tragedy brings old friends together for some mid-life perspective. 'Sometimes you just have to let art flow over you.' I'm so old, I'm suffering from The Big Chill, right now!

1986. 'He put his disease in me.' Why are there people like Frank? When I saw this in '86 there were two little old ladies in front of me that shook their heads and clicked their tongues thru the entire film, 'Tsk, tsk, tsk.' It was priceless. Almost too odd for the 80's.

1980. 'Correct me if I'm wrong, Sandy. But, if I kill all the golfers, they're gonna lock me up and throw away the key.' Epic 80's WIN!

1988. Tom Cruise with a ninja sword whiskey bottle and a young Elizabeth Shue. What's not to like? Not as bad as everyone says it is. A morality tale about romance and 80's superficiality that is just as relevant today as it was back in the Me Decade. Very colorful film with some nice shots of Jamaica. Fairly good DVD, but could stand a remaster.

1982. 'Oh, Jordy Verrill, you lunkhead!' George Romero takes a break from defining the zombie genre and teams up with Stephen King. Creepy and oh so 80's.

1982. Not a dry eye in the house at this premiere. Why did Spielberg tamper with this? FOUL! Buy the Original 1982 version, if you can find it.

1980. Vader is Luke's father? It was whispered into Mark Hamill's ear right before the reveal was captured on film. The best kept secret in the history of filmmaking. Classic for sure.

1981. 'I'll swallow your soul!' First time I saw this was at home, by myself, at 2 in the morning. I peed myself. Is this better than the EDII remake? You betcha. Only because the gooey stop motion animated ending is just sick sick sick!

1987. This flick single-handedly killed the one-night stand. Glenn Close is just frightening! And, I mean that as a compliment. What a great role!

1983. You might say that this one falls into the SUCKS category. Unless you thought Jennifer Beals' body double was hot!! Because of all the goofy FLASHDANCE parodies at the time, I can't hear MANIAC without cracking up. And, my girlfriend played the soundtrack incessantly, so seeing a rerun on TV blasts me right back to the 80's.

1984. 80's camp to the Nth degree. Of course, my favorite scene is when an angry Kevin Bacon is drinkin', smokin' a cigarette, poundin' on his car, and doing gymnastics to Kenny Loggins' FOOTLOOSE. Unintentionally hilarious and fun! An 80's feelgood music video romp. Chris Penn shines!

1984. '... Then of course in the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him, that of a giant Sloar. Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day, I can tell you.' OMG, Rick Moranis had the best lines in this Classic comic fantasy.

1987. A sign of the 80's. The neverending party. Robert Downey Jr. got high one night and woke up in the middle of this film and didn't even realize he was making a movie.

1981. 'I'm not a freak. He's a freak. I'm a goddamned good lookin' man.' Haha. This one just edged out FLETCH on this list. Only because Dabney Coleman was so 'f'ing funny in this flick. And this got way more airplay in the 80's. I only wish this wasn't out-of-print. (FLETCH is still great and deserves a spot on this list.)
