Texas Chainsaw Massacre (New Line Cinema)Texas Chainsaw Massacre (New Line Cinema) by Stephen Hand
Buy used from: $4.58
Group of Teens in Rural America... The remake of the classic is intense filled with gore, death and a whole lot of horror. Best watched with the lights out.
Wrong TurnWrong Turn
Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $1.91
Group of Teens in Rural America... Wait they are running from mutated humans. A differnt take on a story very similar to Hills Have Eyes and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. But hey at 3 in the morning Eliza Dushku makes this one of my favorites in the genre.
Sleepaway CampSleepaway Camp
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $3.36
My all Time Favorite Horror Movie. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it without having someone spoil the famous ending for you. Its a perfect little horror tail with a twist at the end that will be burned into your mind for all time!!! Best of the Best Hands Down!
Halloween - Unrated Director's Cut (Widescreen Two-Disc Special Edition)Halloween - Unrated Director's Cut (Widescreen Two-Disc Special Edition)
Buy new: $15.49 / Used from: $2.48
Most would say the remake is not even close to the qaulity of the original. In most cases these people would be right, but at 3 in the morning when the lights are off, nothing screams bloody murder like Rob Zombies blood filled remake. The new Michael Myres is actually scary and seems unstoppable. A must see in the dark.
The Midnight Meat TrainThe Midnight Meat Train
Buy new: $15.99 / Used from: $2.85
Not many people know of this one but non the less it is one of my new favorites. The acting is actually very well done for this kind of horror movie and the plot keeps you awake during the wee night hours!
28 Weeks Later / 28 Days Later (2 pack)28 Weeks Later / 28 Days Later (2 pack)
Buy new: $31.99 / Used from: $9.89
My only 2 pack selection and this is a must see. If only the "...of the dead" movies had zombies as scary as the infected in this movie. They run, they break through walls they notice light miles away, these guys are everything true Zombies should be. Both great stories that should be walked Back to Back. So maybe start at 2:00 a.m. that night.
What Lies BeneathWhat Lies Beneath
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $0.49
No Blood, or Guts, or Murders, but good plain horror fun. One of the best suspense horror movies of all time. It helps to use big name actors sometimes in the horror genre.
VampiresVampires
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $1.48
By far one of my favorite takes on Vampires. No cute cuddle creatures or humor craving living dead instead you get brutal vampire killing fun. After the movie if its still dark you may find yourself out looking to hunt your own vampires.
Species [Blu-ray]Species [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $5.50
So we have Ghost Horror, Serial Killer horror, Vampire Horror why not some Alien Horror. Species is more fun then scary but it is still a 1990's horror classic.
Stephen King's Storm of the CenturyStephen King's Storm of the Century
Buy new: $6.49 / Used from: $0.95
I'm personally note a huge fan of the Stephen King film adapations except for the Stand and Storm of the Century. Warning this Movie is LONG and you should probably start it well before Midnight if you plan on finishing in one sitting. This movie has a good little twist at the near end that most figure out but its still a solid horror film.
Friday the 13th Uncut (Deluxe Edition)Friday the 13th Uncut (Deluxe Edition)
Buy new: $15.49 / Used from: $4.33
This is one of the few movies where I truely believe the original is far better then the remake. The remake of friday the 13th was nothing more then the best death scenes of the best Friday movies all tied together in one short plotless movie. In the original there was a vision, a sense of adventure and you almost felt sorry for the killer. This original is a must see for late at night.
New Nightmare [Region 2]New Nightmare [Region 2]
Buy used from: $37.27
I wasn't a huge fan of the plotless Nightmare on Elm Street Movies but Wes Cravens New Nightmare was definatly a must see! The best of the series hands down!
The Thing (Collector's Edition)The Thing (Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $4.61
The Thing is another Alien Horror film that I find it be amazing. Watching this in the cold of night makes the Antartic that much scarier. Aliens from under the ice that can turn into carbon based lifeforms... everyone a suspect. Awesome idea, awesome actors awesome movie!
Hostel (Unrated Widescreen Edition)Hostel (Unrated Widescreen Edition)
Buy used from: $0.01
I consider Hostel part of my top 20 only because the sheer gore and unnessacery violance in the movie makes for a GREAT 3:00 am viewing party. A little over the top in parts but overall a stomach turning movie!! That's what makes an average Horror movie a Good horror movie. Not great, especially the acting and cast.
Event Horizon (Two-Disc Special Collector's Edition)Event Horizon (Two-Disc Special Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $5.33
Take the plot from Stephen Kings "The Shining" and set the movie on board a space ship and you have Event Horizon. Gory, Phycological Horror at its best. If you are a fan of Sci Fi or deep space exploration watch this movie in the dark, it will make you never want to visit space again!!
