Buy new: $7.96 / Used from: $4.60 This series of books (there are four)are a little harder to read than Capt. Underpants but they still have some pictures. My son loves the "underdog" theme and laughs at all the problems the Wimpy Kid runs into, especially those with his younger brother, Manny.

Buy new: $12.23 / Used from: $10.25 Splat is a little bit scared of going to school so he takes his friend, the mouse, and finds out that school is fun. We read this book before going to 1st grade with a new teacher and students, so my son really related to it. It is funny and the illustrations are great.
