The clincher for me was when the main character started murdering the French language (and I'm English speaking....) They should just have limited the location to the English part of Canada!

These hippie mother earth ethnic sleeze type characters had no sense of self whatsoever. Whimps! Coconuts hopelessly drifting along the coast of life wherever the current took them. My advice to them? Throw yourselves in front of a scooter and spare us the drama. No, no, no!

No resemblance whatsoever to the gem, Amelie, by the same maker. I suppose this is postgraduate film watching and I'm still a freshman.

The plot explores coming out, denial, first love & first break-up, but I don't remember anything extraordinary. I think it should probably have had an age restriction. No over sixteens.
