![]() | Secrets of a Former Fat Girl: How to Lose Two, Four (or More!) Dress Sizes--And Find Yourself Along the Way by Lisa Delaney
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $7.50 This is my number one favorite book. We big girls tend to hide behind our weight and use it as an excuse to keep from living life to the fullest and really going for what we want. A big part of shedding pounds is shedding the "fat girl mentality" that goes with it.

![]() | Neris and India's Idiot-Proof Diet: A Weight-Loss Plan for Real Women by Neris Thomas
Buy new: $16.49 / Used from: $2.92 This was the last book I purchased. The diet itself is high protein, low carb- a modified Atkins approach. The diet itself was very straightforward, but I really liked the way the authors tried to take a very personal interest in you through the pages of the book.

![]() | If I'm So Smart, Why Can't I Lose Weight?: Tools to Get it Done by Brooke Castillo
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $10.95 Brooke Castillo is a "weight loss coach"- similar to a life coach. I had a hard time reading her book straight through (some sections didn't really apply to me) but I enjoyed reading it from section to section. I really liked her approach to identifying mindless eating.

![]() | Hungry Girl: Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt-Free Eating in the Real World by Lisa Lillien
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $5.89 This is a cook book with tips and advice for cutting calories and fat and eating great no matter where you are- it has healthier versions of junk foods, ice blendeds, desserts, you name it. It is easily my favorite cook book- and there are over 30 in my house!

![]() | The Ultimate PCOS Handbook: Lose Weight, Boost Fertility, Clear Skin and Restore Self-Esteem by Colette Harris
Buy new: $13.57 / Used from: $12.24 This book is big- it really is like a dictionary for all things PCOS related. It can be really difficult trying to lose weight when you have PCOS, but this book goes into the kinds of foods that don't trigger the PCOS symptoms.
