Shows very little respect to the source. All that these filmakers seemed to have wanted was a broad idea that they could turn into an action flik. Yuck!

The atheist Wells would have cringed at the religious message that is so unbeileivably forced onto the end of this film. I'll admist, some of the special effects were pretty good, in fact the visual portrayal of the tripods combined with the wonderfully chilling sounds they made were really good. Unfortunately, the effects were not enough to save the movie from a poor handling of plot structure.

The action scenes are sort of cool I guess, but the fact that Keanu Reeves is the star of this film completely ruins any potential it had. If you want a real cyber punk film then I would suggest 'Blade Runner'.

Did I say Starship Troopers was the worst movie on the film? Whoops, I spoke too soon. I'm glad H.P. Lovecraft isn't alive today to see this. I think its safe to say this probably didn't get a wider circulation than the tortuously inane 'Sci-Fi Channel'.

Not as bad as most of the films on this list, in fact, I would venture to say that this is somewhat entertaining at times. However, the low level of respect payed to Bram Stoker's classic novel earns this film a place on this list.

I wanted to like this movie, I really did. I mean, with the director of such films as 'Beetlejuice' and 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' doing an adaptation of Irving's classic, I was sure it would be good. Well it wasn't. In fact this film is down right terrible.
