Peppy, cheerful, uplifting Colombian Vallenato music that makes you want to move. It inspires my two year old to dance. It also inspires him to take his clothes off (why, I'm not exactly sure ;-)

Hard to describe - He was born in Alaska and grew up in Argentina. Sort of a Latin Jack Johnson with a quirky sense of humor. Some English, some Spanish (with that great Argentinian accent)

Jarabe de Palo is a great Spanish band that will teach you how to lisp when you say "cerveza". Ying Yang cracks me up - the battle of the sexes summed up in clever lyrics.

Another Colombian. An eclectic mix of various styles. Listen to "Mi Bonbon" and it'll be one of those songs you can't get out of your head. Sorry.

Otro Colombiano! What is it about those Colombians, anyway? I guess I'm a Colombiaphile! Can you tell I lived there?

"En el Muelle de San Blas" is one of the most touching, romantic songs I've ever heard. "El Chaman" takes you to the Amazon rain forest on a mystical journey. "La Sirena" is a lovely lullaby.

"Cuando Los Angeles Lloran" tells the story of a man who wanted to save the rain forest and was murdered for his efforts. Mana can be very political in their lyrics.

Bacilos' latest. "Colores, colores" celebrates diversity, "La Olla" tells about the hell of living in the Colombian "pressure cooker".

Dejame Entrar got him an Emmy.
