This is such an unrelenting film. I first read de Sade's novel, and then discovered this movie. I love how it is a more modernized version of his story, but the message is the same. No matter how tuned-down it is from the book, it is still brutally affective.

Sweet Movie never gets old. I love to watch this with my friends and show it to new people. It is a great conversation piece, and should be read like poetry.

Black hilarity from start to finish. We first watched this after watching "Dear Zachary", and laughed our butts off before we put it in due to the cover of the pacifier popping up from the blood splatter. That is exactly the kind of humor one needs to get through "Man Bites Dog."

Those who I viewed this with didn't like it. I found it to be a dark meditation and a masterpiece of cinematography.

This should have been right up my alley because I am a fan of Bunuel, surrealism, and poking fun of religion, but I just didn't find this to be much fun. Perhaps I need to see it again...

I found it at a used book store and it will probably end up back there.

This seemed to drag on through the first half and got a little monotonous, but the second part makes up for it, making this a solid film.

This is an incredibly unique film about an incredibly unique man. I love how the film transitions through the past, the present and Mishima’s literary works. Philip Glass’ soundtrack fits in perfectly.

Bergman is philosopher, and this movie proves it. Never before in film has there been a more precise meditation on life and death.

The epitaph on Royal's grave was the nail in the coffin (pun intended) to cement this as an unforgetable and moving experience.

This film gave me more chills and goosebumps than anything I have ever seen. It also scared me. This is such a moving film.

I used to date a girl who thought she practiced witchcraft, and she took this movie seriously. That, in itself, is funnier than this movie.

This is a culture-shock for most of the population. However, through all of the clutter, there is strong warmth to be found...which is also a heart-breaking sense of co-dependency. This should be shown in psychology classes.
