Das Leben der Anderen is yet another great German film. This one centers around the Stasi interference in the lives of people in East Germany (Deutsche Demokratische Republik). The stasi were comparable to the Gestapo of the Third Reich or the KGB of the rest of the states under Soviet controll

This is a great movie. It is about the fall of the german wall between the east and west but that is all I will say about it.

While there is a large amount of profanity in here, there are also other useful things such as if you are lost, are at a beer hall, etc. I reccomend this because it gives a practical insight to the german language and how people talk instead of the standard vocabulary.
