Ever After: A Cinderella Story - Original Motion Picture SoundtrackEver After: A Cinderella Story - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $1.97
One of the most beautiful soundtracks I have EVER heard--there are such uplifting and heartbreaking songs on here, and with some of them, I can just see colors in my mind. WARNING: ONLY instrumental music (and the credits song). The songs played in the trailer are not on this album.
You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (1999 Broadway Revival Cast)You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (1999 Broadway Revival Cast) by Clark Gesner
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $7.04
This is one of the funniest, light-hearted shows I've heard. The singers are great, the songs are fun--overall, the perfect CD for a road trip or cleaning day.
Titanic Serenade: Music From An Age Of EleganceTitanic Serenade: Music From An Age Of Elegance by Andy Street
Buy new: $17.98 / Used from: $0.01
This album doesn't have the best music I've ever heard, but if you are passionate about Titanic/Edwardian times, it is a great CD. Songs from that time period are on this album, and if you close your eyes and imagine really hard, you might be able to envision yourself on the Titanic. ;)
Finding NeverlandFinding Neverland by Jan A.P. Kaczmarek
Buy new: $18.98 / Used from: $4.55
This is again one of the best soundtracks I have heard. The music is "bubbly" and light and very "fairy-tale"-ish.
Peter PanPeter Pan by James Newton Howard
Buy new: $17.98 / Used from: $7.91
While some of the music on this album is somewhat dark, there are several uplifting songs. One of the songs entitled "Flying" is just that--when you close your eyes, you can just imagine yourself flying over the world. Would highly recommend to any soundtrack-enthusiast.
Wicked (2003 Original Broadway Cast)Wicked (2003 Original Broadway Cast) by Kristin Chenoweth
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $7.88
So you probably know about this Broadway musical and CD, but I had to add it, since it is one of my favorite Broadway musicals and scores. With a wide variety of song styles and artists, this musical is perfect for any occasion and person.
The Phantom of the Opera (2004 Movie Soundtrack)The Phantom of the Opera (2004 Movie Soundtrack) by Andrew Lloyd Webber
Buy new: $10.97 / Used from: $6.95
My other favorite Broadway show and score (Wicked being the other), Phantom of the Opera is Broadway to the max, and also has a bit of something for opera-lovers, as well as pop-people. I can't even being to describe the angelic-like quality of Emmy Rossum's voice or the absolutely epic songs on this album.
Celtic WomanCeltic Woman by Celtic Woman
Buy new: $11.94 / Used from: $5.97
I think this is my favorite Celtic Woman album, probably because some of their best songs are on this CD. Celtic Woman is a group of women with angelic voices. Their songs are a mixture of inspirational, celtic, and traditional songs. Highly recommend!
Let Yourself GoLet Yourself Go by Kristin Chenoweth
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $2.99
Kristin Chenoweth is one of my favorite artists, and this is probably my favorite of her two personal CD's. It has a mixture of show-type music, often with a jazzy sort of sound. If you like show-tunes, jazz, or just silly, fun songs, this is an album for you!
NewsiesNewsies by Jack Feldman
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $8.97
So I must admit, I haven't actually heard the entire "Newsies" album, but I've seen the movie, and I LOVE the music. What really impresses me, too, is that the kids singing this are just kids--and some of them (like Christian Bale) had never sung before. There are uplifting, jazzy, and exciting songs that I personally enjoy very much.
Disney's Greatest Hits 3Disney's Greatest Hits 3 by Various Artists
Buy new: $18.98 / Used from: $14.99
The third and last installment in the CD line "Disney's Greatest Hits" is a compilation of songs from somewhat newer classic Disney films (Peter Pan 2, Toy Story 2, etc.). Great for kids, teens, and adults alike of all genders and ages.
Disney's Greatest, Vol. 1Disney's Greatest, Vol. 1 by Disney
Buy used from: $17.99
The first CD in "Disney's Greatest Hits" CD line (of 3 CD's), this album is of different songs from a variety of classic Disney films. Love it!
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954 Film Soundtrack)Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954 Film Soundtrack) by Gene DePaul
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $5.88
This soundtrack is one of the funnest yet from the classics. While it doesn't have any of the most well-known classic songs, the songs it DOES have are fun, unique, and just pretty darn cool. There are some fun, up-beat ones and some serious ones, but they are all great!
Singin' in the Rain (1952 Film Soundtrack)Singin' in the Rain (1952 Film Soundtrack) by Nacio Herb Brown
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $4.31
"Singin' in the Rain" is one of my favorite classic movies and soundtracks. Gene Kelly is awesome, the songs are awesome (not a single boring one)--everything is just awesome, and represents what a classic musical is.
Betcha Bottom DollarBetcha Bottom Dollar by Puppini Sisters
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $3.72
The Puppini Sisters take the well-known, jazzy songs of our country's history and re-do them into finger-snapping, feet-dancing, lip-whistling tunes that make everyone tap their foot in time. These three singers take on the style of the Andrews and Boswell Sisters to bring history's music into modern times.
Piece by PiecePiece by Piece by Katie Melua
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $6.84
"Katie Melua" isn't a popular name in the USA, but she's big news in the UK. This British born jazz vocalist has a unique voice and song style.
