When an innocent woman spends half of a film getting raped by hicks, you'd best believe there will be hell to play. Painful, painful hell to pay.

Probably the best known modern Asian revenge story and Korea's gift to film. I won't even give it away, it's so effed up. When talking about intricate revenge plots, though, this one's got to take the whole damn cake.

One of the most creative bits of revenge not brought to us by Asia. Ever thought about spiking somebody's food with rabid dog's blood? Fun will ensue.

Political commentary at it's most flagrant and revolutionary. A wronged man unleashes his anger by first terrorizing and killing the fascist government officials responsible for his grudge, then bringing down their entire system. Awesome.

Stuntman Mike thinks he's real tough, running down sweet young thangs with his deathproof car until he finds out that some girls don't take no sh!+.

The Dark Knight dons cape and cowl and terrorizes Gotham City's underworld until he finds the man who killed his parents. Classic.

Badazz general is framed, enslaved, and has his family butchered. He then proceed to rise through the gladiatorial ranks until he is more powerful than the emperor who put him there. Good stuff.

Some snot-nosed prince steals your woman? Just send the greatest army the world has ever seen to get her back! Viscious conflict ensues, limbs are severed, and now everybody's got something to avenge. This is another director's cut worth seeing, lengthy as it is.

Now God's creatures are getting in on the action. Moby Dick in reverse has this killer whale chasing his mate's killer across the seas to settle the score.

The original man against nature epic pits crazed Captain Ahab against the white whale who totally owned him. Is it worth it? Well, you know the story.

Got a problem with a real jerk? Just enter your greivance on the Hell Link at midnight and Hell Girl will take them straight to Hades. The catch? When you die, you join them. Hey anime characters need retribution too!

The final act of this film is one of the most brutal and satisfying finales I've ever seen in a horror film. Enjoy.

The baddest samurai in the land is framed, his wife murdered, and to top it off, he is then ordered to commit suicide. His response? How about spending six films cutting a bloody swath through the entirety of the clan who wronged him. The body count is too massive to keep track of. Awesome

Sometimes, vengeance has to wait until the afterlife. This film is Japan's answer to Dante's "Inferno", where we follow the misguided characters' respective journeys into the abyss to face their own sins.

Sometimes, revenge just doesn't work out like we want it to. But it's the thought that counts.
