Of Dahmer's approximate 17 victims, about 13 of them were Black men. He used racism to get white cops think a Southeast Asain boy was his lover and then he killed the victim after the police left.

Urvashi Vaid recalls that when she was made the leader of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, someone called and said, "You can't hire her! She's practically a n*gg*r!" Further, someone suggested that her VP should be a "cute, white, male" in order to balance things out.

Though the men may not have been out in today's sense, this book says several white gay men of the fin-de-siecle enjoyed portraying/deriding Black women in minstrel shows.
