Cleverly titled film more about changes of heart than about basketball. Love the Christmas party, the love story and some very charming scenes. Don't let the depressing opening fool you. It's a very uplifting film.

Best baseball movie, an HBO film. Stars William Peterson(now of CSI) and Virginia Madsen(on a roll with Sideways, The Number 23, and Astronaut Farmer). Both were good.

Mariel Hemingway is SO gorgeous!(especially in this and Woody Allen's 'Manhattan'). Be warned that lesbianism is one subject of many.

Follow-up to Rocky, somewhat browbeaten because it's derivative of that film AND because it's about pro wrestling. But, those prejudices aside, not a bad movie actually(for a sports movie, that is...)

Not really a sports film per se, but boxing does play a major role in the plot, so I included it. Actually I thought it was the best movie of its year(though it was a weak year). Directed by John Avildsen, who directed the first Rocky and 'The Karate Kid'.

Controversy that this winner of a film was rated PG. We Christians know the principles and behaviors espoused in this film work. That's dangerous?

2007 ABC-TV movie about perhaps the greatest female race horse of all time. For those of us who followed her at the time, the movie can't recapture it, but it's a good try, especially for those who weren't around. Sam Shepard's good.

Based on the true story of the University of Marshall football team and its community comeback from tragedy. You may not LOVE the movie, but if it doesn't move you somewhat you must be made of stone.

Good boxing drama.(This is not the Elvis re-make).BODY AND SOUL with John Garfield is another good one.

The sports theme(boxing)is dwarfed by the trendy political climax and agenda. Eastwood remains an impressive director however.

Another film I didn't care for much, but OTHERS do.I put it here to be fair because so many football fans like it. Still another like this was SEMI-TOUGH with Burt and Kristofferson, 2 of my fave PERSONALITIES as opposed to actors(2 huge box office stars at the time). Didn't care for it much though.
