Buy new: $15.34 / Used from: $9.50 This admittedly is not a bicycle commuting book although there is a section on bike commuting in cities. I liked this book because after I started writing I started to think, what if I didn't drive a car at all? This book tells you what the world could be like. Largely compares two cities - Venice, Italy(car free city) with Los Angeles,CA(car dominated city).

Buy new: $11.66 / Used from: $4.35 This a somewhat controversial bike commuting book. I tend to like most of the ideas in it. Although i find some of them under the "sly biker" notes to be advice that I may not follow. You be the judge.

Buy new: $10.36 / Used from: $4.90 This is a great book to check out if you are considering taking up bike commuting. Chris Balish was a media star hosting a local news station driving an SUV everywhere he went. One day he found out he was broke so he sold his car. He has gotten by in part by riding his bike. Has sections detailing things he has learned about bike commuting.

Buy new: $11.99 Good little low cost light. Fine if you are riding in streets with street lighting. When you get a light, consider what it's going to cost you to replace the batteries. You'll spend a lot more on batteries than the cost of the light.

Buy new: $11.99 Good low cost red blinky. Rear red Blinkies aren't required to be street legal at night but sure do make you a whole lot more visible.
