![]() | This Euphoria by Davíd Garza
Buy new: $8.96 / Used from: $0.24 in 1990 David played on the UT student Union Plaza with an acoustic band called "TwangTwangShockaboom". the band signed a recording contract and broke-up. His solo music is kind of a rave psychadelic funk, with catchy hooks.
A few years ago he was on rolling Stone's Artists to Watch list.

![]() | Best of Jerry Clower by Jerry Clower
Buy new: $5.98 / Used from: $1.16 Will Sexton and David Grissom produced by Joe Ely. This is a rock album that was eclipsed in music styles with the advent of grunge.
Excellent straight up rock, check out "Rocks in my Pillow"

![]() | Cruel and Gentle Things by Charlie Sexton
Buy used from: $3.23 After a brief time in the limelight with the pop hit "Lonely at the Top" from "Pictures for Pleasure" Charlie matured into an accomplished musician.
"Cruel and Gentle Things" was released after he spent time in Bob Dylan's band and you can tell. Some of the arrangements seem to be inspired by Dylan.

![]() | Live at Liberty Lunch by Joe Ely
Buy used from: $1.88 Joe Ely is Texas Music. I'm not a fan of live albums, but this is an exception. Butch Hancock sits in on "Bluebird", and David Grissom Shines on lead guitar.
This was a great time to live in Austin.

![]() | Experiment On A Flat Plane [CD on Demand] by Soulhat
Buy new: $12.00 / Used from: $3.00 This band was the hottest thing going in early 90's Austin. After "Good to be Gone" the original line up called it quits.
This album was recorded after Bill Cassis quit. It stands as a tribute to Kevin's abilities.
|
![]() | Good to Be Gone by SoulHat
Buy used from: $1.68 Bonecrusher became an institution on KLBJ after this album. It was Soulhat's one brush with succesful radio play. This album is much heavier than the sound that made Soulhat an Austin favorite at the Black Cat Saloon.
Bill Cassis is an outstanding guitarist, although the leads on the CD's seem conservative compared to the live play.
Rhythmically this band was AWESOME.

![]() | Ear Candy by King's X
Buy new: $10.98 / Used from: $1.89 King's X is a Houston band with a large Houston folowing. they received a measure of radio play in the late 80's and early 90's.
I would classify this as a straight-up rock band. They use a lot of harmony in the vocal work and a lot of the songs involve multiple singers in the forefront ala Alice in Chains.
Solid musicianship

![]() | Johnny Winter And by Johnny Winter
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $5.07 Johnny Winter at his most mainstream rock and roll. The "And" is his, at the time, all-star band including Rick Derringer.
This album includes Derringer's "Rock and Roll Hoochie Coo" although it is a different version than most are used to.
Other great tunes include "Guess I'll Go Away" and "Prodigal Son"

![]() | Couldn't Stand the Weather by Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble
Buy new: $7.98 / Used from: $3.26 Texas music without SRV, Hello!
This is his second album with Double Trouble. My fav of his. This was recorded before he brought in Reese Wynans on keyboards. Reese also did some great work with Capatain Beyond, check out the Album "Sufficiently Brathless" if you can.

![]() | Vallejo by Vallejo
Buy used from: $1.96 Hard rocking band with latin percussion, from El Campo, Texas. Lots of energy, excellent musicianship and vocal work. Winner of Austin Music Awards Best Rock Band.
