Remember Michael Keaton? No one else does either. However, he was one of the most underrated comic actors of the 80's. This is one of the best spoof films ever. Made before Joe Piscopo became huge (pun intended).
Little Nicky (New Line Platinum Series)Little Nicky (New Line Platinum Series)
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $2.00
As a rule, I usually avoid Adam Sandler movies. This one is just so off the wall though, I love it. A great cast too. Also, Clint Howard's oddest cameo ever. "Good luck with the nipple rubbing."
The Big Lebowski - 10th Anniversary EditionThe Big Lebowski - 10th Anniversary Edition
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $8.70
I've tried to turn many people on to this, but no one gets it. "Nothing happens." Well, that's kinda the point. Everything that comes out of John Goodman's mouth is a classic quote.
Zoolander (Special Collector's Edition)Zoolander (Special Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $2.10
Genius. I avoid Ben Stiller's awkward guy/hot chick movies, but this one is different. You can never take the fashion industry seriously again. It's also what made me a Will Ferrell fan.
UHFUHF
Buy used from: $2.93
It's a shame Weird Al only got to do one film. A sadly forgotten classic. Heck, nowadays the concept of UHF is even foreign to some people.
1941 (Collector's Edition)1941 (Collector's Edition)

This extended version is a little long, but this is an irreverent gem. The best role John Belushi ever did. Yes, I said that.
Me, Myself & Irene (Special Edition)Me, Myself & Irene (Special Edition)
Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $0.50
This is the perfect Farrelly Brothers movie. I doesn't contain much of the grossout humor of their other flicks. It's also just about Jim Carrey's best performance ever. He should've been given an Oscar for that scene in the grocery store when he changes.
Hoodwinked (Widescreen Edition)Hoodwinked (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $0.98
I saw this in the theater - I think there were about five of us nationwide. Patrick Warburton's character of the Wolf is classic. Did anyone else catch that they were ripping on the movie "Fletch"?
ClueClue
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $2.93
Who woulda thought a awesome comedy could've been made out of a board game? The best comedy ensemble cast ever. A criminally underrated film. One of Tim Curry's three phenomenal comic roles.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (25th Anniversary Edition)The Rocky Horror Picture Show (25th Anniversary Edition)
Buy used from: $9.22
Let me say first - I don't put on panties and garters and go see this every weekend. I don't memorize lame quips to holler at the screen. I just think this is a really funny movie. No one has ever inhabited a role like Tim Curry does here.
Pass the Ammo [VHS]Pass the Ammo [VHS]
Buy used from: $3.03
The full title is "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammo". This is a 80's movie where Tim Curry plays a TV preacher, and Bill Paxton is the guy trying to get his money back. The best comment ever on the televangelist craze. This is an utterly forgotten film. I will probably never see DVD.
Anchorman - The Legend Of Ron Burgundy (Unrated Widescreen Edition)Anchorman - The Legend Of Ron Burgundy (Unrated Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $8.49 / Used from: $2.66
One of the most brilliant embodiments of a character ever. Steve Carrell almost steals the show. The only downside of this release is the stupid commentary (non-stop swearing - ha ha).
Airplane! (Don't Call Me Shirley! Edition)Airplane! (Don't Call Me Shirley! Edition)
Buy new: $9.49 / Used from: $2.49
In these days of "Scary Movie/Superhero Movie/Epic Movie/Date Movie" crap, no one can come up with anything that can hold a candle to this. One of my favorite childhood films. It's probably why my humor is so skewed.
Airplane II: The SequelAirplane II: The Sequel
Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $4.67
The Zucker brothers disown this one (they didn't direct it), but it's almost as good as the first. William Shatner chews scenery brilliantly at the end.
Top Secret!Top Secret!
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $2.20
My cult favorite of the Zucker Brothers/Jim Abraham kind of film. A classic - "What does your name mean Nick?" "I don't know, my father thought of it while he was shaving." A forgotten classic.
The Blues Brothers (Widescreen 25th Anniversary Edition)The Blues Brothers (Widescreen 25th Anniversary Edition)
Buy new: $14.98 / Used from: $6.21
It goes way over the top near the end, but the rest of it is top-notch. And "Blues Brothers 2000" never happened, I don't care what you say. Yuck.
ConeheadsConeheads
Buy new: $9.49 / Used from: $3.85
Some might think this was way past its time by the time it came out. As far as SNL bit-based films, this stands right alongside The Blues Brothers.
The Addams Family / Addams Family ValuesThe Addams Family / Addams Family Values
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $7.40
Both excellent films. If you have a macabre sense of humor, these are made for you. Raul Julia is sorely missed by me. And please - avoid the straight-to-video third one with Darryl Hannah.
Monty Python's the Meaning of Life (2-disc Collector's Edition)Monty Python's the Meaning of Life (2-disc Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $24.49 / Used from: $2.86
Everyone walks around quoting "Holy Grail" nonstop, but this one has always been my favorite. It's a shame the boys never decided to do another one. A brilliant comment on life toward the end of the 20th century.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Criterion CollectionFear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Criterion Collection
Buy new: $25.99 / Used from: $7.94
You don't need to be high to enjoy this movie, but it can help. Johnny Depp's best role ever. Forget Captain Jack Sparrow.
Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in The Hood (Unrated Miramax Collector's Edition)Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in The Hood (Unrated Miramax Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $4.80
My favorite Wayans Brothers film. Deservedly pokes fun at all those "growing up in the 'hood is hard" movies we were subjected to in the 90's.
Spaceballs (Collector's Edition)Spaceballs (Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $22.99 / Used from: $2.93
Mel's last good comedy. I think he ran out of juice after this one. Of all the Star Wars parodies that exist, this is one of the best.
Young FrankensteinYoung Frankenstein
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $1.99
A stone-cold comedy classic. One perfect scene after another. Few people have ever devoted themselves to a comedy role like Gene Wilder does here. Also a very beautiful looking film.
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (Widescreen Special Edition)Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (Widescreen Special Edition)
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $8.39
You don't have to be a kid to enjoy this. Wilder's Wonka is one of the greatest. And yes - better than Johnny Depp's. A demented childhood fave of mine, and it's still funny to me now.
The Royal Tenenbaums (The Criterion Collection)The Royal Tenenbaums (The Criterion Collection)
Buy new: $15.99 / Used from: $6.62
Wes Anderson's movies can be hit or miss, but this one is a winner. A very richly textured comedy. You thought your family was odd...
The AristocratsThe Aristocrats
Buy new: $12.49 / Used from: $1.14
So what if you don't get the punchline. Watching this many great comedians riff on a FILTHY joke is worth seeing regardless. I didn't know Bob Saget had it in him.
To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything Julie NewmarTo Wong Foo Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $3.99
I don't know why I like this so much. It isn't even just the "men in dresses" giggle that does it either. John Leguizamo is amazing in this. Cudos to Wesley Snipes as well. You think he would do this movie nowadays?
Dogma (Special Edition)Dogma (Special Edition)
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $2.14
I didn't want to put in all of Kevin Smith's movies, so I picked this one, which also happens to be his perfect film. Religion has never been skewered so brilliantly. A brave film to make, really.
Love at First BiteLove at First Bite
Buy used from: $15.97
The best Dracula spoof ever. When someone says "George Hamilton", I don't think of his tan or his dancing son, I think of this film.
Moving ViolationsMoving Violations
Buy used from: $21.98
What? A good 80's comedy starring Bill Murray's brother? Yes, hands down. Another of my childhood faves. John Murray manages to radiate enough of Bill's wryness to carry his role. Remember the "Where's the Beef" lady? She's in here.
Revenge of the Nerds - Panty Raid EditionRevenge of the Nerds - Panty Raid Edition
Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $2.36
I was a bit of a geek growing up, so I've always had a thing for this movie. After #2, the sequels suck, but this one is still a perfect 80's comedy in my book.
Team America: World Police - Unrated (Widescreen Special Collector's Edition)Team America: World Police - Unrated (Widescreen Special Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $4.00
So what if it's puppets? This is the most righteous stab at everything that was wrong with G.W.'s war-mongering America. And I dare you not to watch it and be singing "America, %#@* yeah!" once it's over...
National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 / Senior TripNational Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 / Senior Trip
Buy used from: $2.61
By and large most of the National Lampoon non-Vacation movies suck, but these two have always been guilty pleasures of mine. Loaded Weapon is one of the best parodies of early 90's action films, and Senior Trip is just a great teen "screwing and smoking" comedy.
Orgazmo (Unrated Special Edition)Orgazmo (Unrated Special Edition)
Buy new: $17.49 / Used from: $4.50
I waited FOREVER for this to finally come out on DVD. A cult film to say the least. Filled with so many great lines and funny bits, you'll lose count. And seeing Ron Jeremy perform a perfect crescent kick near the end is just the icing on the cake...
