A lush depiction of the days when radio was a major part of life, this is before tv got big. It is insanely funny but in a subtle kind of a way and it really captures some historical moments brilliantly.

Woody makes a few appearances here, but the best one is the one where he gets to play the clarinet. We get to see a somewhat painful side when he begins to play and the audience laughs. He turns it into a spectacle, but as he says later, he was being serious. A very entertaining guest.

This is the first movie Woody wrote, directed, and acted in and it is a riot. It's told in documentary style, which adds to the humor. A must-see.

This movie foreshadows what would happen in his real love life when he married a woman much younger than himself. The movie's best quality is that it uses Gershwin's music beautifully.
