When most people think of revenge flicks, this is the 1st one that comes to mind. Charles Bronson is excellent as is this film, much better than the rubbish endless sequels that it spawned.

Weird one this, and very graphic. You need to watch it 2-3 times to fully understand the plot, as I think some of it is lost in translation due to the subtitles. However imagine what you would do if you were locked in a room for 15 years, and you did not know why or by whom?

Jodie Foster does not make many films, which is why when she does they are usually quality. This is no exception. A very harrowing movie, and far fetched at times, but one of the best modern examples of the genre.

Or Straightheads as it it called in my country England. A very short movie, just over one hour long, but boy does it get to the point revenge wise. Some nasty scenes in this one, and it is also very interesting to see Gillian Anderson acting outside of her usual comfort zone. In my opinion as a Brit, she is the only US actress/actor that can do a genuine British accent!

Another British revenge movie very few Americans have heard about. If you are sick of wasters running around the streets making life difficult for ordinary folk, this movie could be right up your street.

I think enough has been said about these two films. They fit this genre, they are a bit too fantasy for me, but the revenge issue is definately there. Not a patch revenge wise on some of the other films on this list.
